Still no Tucker in the Corpus lineup tonight.

ETA: and no Alvarez in game 1 of a double header for Buies Creek.

They do have a left handed prospect out of Arkansas starting for them. May not be a power arm but a ground ball machine

Oh you mean that Koochel kid? Idk. His numbers were his ok in his last go round at AA but he's a non prospect. An 89 mph fastball and a K/9 just over 5 in AA isn't promising for a major league career. Best case, he makes a few spot starts late next year if somebody gets injured. Minor league filler type.

Wrap your mind around that. Brian McCann, baseball police is dressed as a priest of a funeral for Carlos Beltran's glove.

Astros pitching prospect Franklin Perez is scheduled to make his Double A debut tonight after Dallas Keuchel's rehab outing is over.

would the astros say no to Manny Machado & Zach Britton for Bregman, Kyle Tucker, Colin Moran, and Forrest Whitley?

No chance both leave. Fisher more likely to be included.

I don't think Luhnow would do that. No idea but just an assumption.

On the one hand, that's a hell of a prospect price weighted heavily by Machado's part when we don't necessarily need to upgrade the offense. There's no way we'd be able to sign Machado after next season so losing Bregman and a potential successor in Moran creates a longer term hole at 3rd.

On the other hand, you add a potential MVP level bat to an offense that already has 3 MVP caliber offensive players in addition to a dominant lefty out of the bullpen.

I feel like in the short term, which is the idea with a Machado/Britton deal, we'd be better suited going after a starter. What type of SP could we get for that type of package?

Mortgage the future away for a year and a half of Machado and Britton? Maybe you resign Britton for the 15+mill a year he will likely command, but man that's steep. Bregman, Tucker, and Whitley have some pretty damn high ceilings that will are under team control through and past the current championship window. Maybe you don't resign Springer?.. Well looky here we got us a nice top end talent stepping up at just the right time.

Would I do it? NO

They need to hold a memorial service for his bat. Maybe a Resurrection instead.
