This is arguably equal to if not more than the Cubs gave up for Quintana. Eloy is the highest rated prospect between the two deals but Whitley is a top 50 and Fisher a top 75-100. Along with Moran who is a former 6 overall pick having a resurgent year. Cubs gave up more at the top but this hypothetical has more quality players at almost equal talent.
All that to say yes it seems like a lot

Bonus points if you can name the A's GM without looking it up.
the new guy never gets mentioned in Beane's shadow. Similar to Theo getting credit for every Cubs move even though that's Hoyers job.

For now. He's poised to rocket up the prospect lists if within the next year or so. I'd hate to lose him.

I admittedly dont know much about Franklin Perez but Im confused on why he hasnt been discussed more in trade discussion. Sub 1 WHIP in high A at age 19 and up to Corpus now. He rose from 39 to 33 in BA mid season top 100. We should be able to spare either him or Whitley from being in the trade.

I don't think him and Whitley will both be dealt. Perez is legit

Probably just due to him being an international signing that has become really good as opposed to a high draft choice. But yes it's arguable based on age and performance that he is just as valuable as Whitley

I didn't say it wasn't, but I don't see us landing a starter without Whitley/Martes/Tucker headlining a trade. Then a 2nd guy ranked in the top 100 along with a couple MLB ready guys (which we have plenty). Maybe you sub Moran and Reed for guys like Kemp/PTucker and a low level guy outside of the top 20...
Whitley + Fisher as the headliners for Gray... I don't see us getting him or any starter for cheaper than some equivalent to that.

The #Astros still favorites for #A's Sonny Gray, but #Royals very aggressive on him
Derp. Kansas City needs to go with a rental because it's what they can afford and because this season is all or nothing for them. If they aren't selling their rental vets now, they are doomed for years to come and don't need controllable starters.

Yeah honestly the Royals players that they should be trading might be screwing KC over right now by winning too many games

Aaaaaand Jabroni says he's ready to pitch a major league game.

What's going on here? A fake memorial service for Beltran's glove. He hasn't played OF in quite some time.

I thought about this when somebody suggested last week that our best lineup meant having Beltran play the OF. Seems like that idea is dead. it's been months since he was in the field.
ETA: May 16th he played LF in Miami.

Whoever thought our best lineup included Beltran in the OF is dead from the brain up.

I'm not going to look it up, but I only remember him starting in the OF twice.
Posted on 7/17/17 at 4:50 pm to High C
He's played 9 games in the OF, 7 starts. Not much at this point but all those starts came from the start of the season till mid May. So it was a once or twice a week thing up till that point.
In other news, not sure if this was posted earlier
Somewha of a conflicting statement from what we saw in the last couple weeks that Quintana wasn't a prime target.
