That was a crazy day

Basically the world's last hurrah before covid happened

I was very triggered that day

It was hard to keep up with what all was going on there were so many Internet sleuths just posting random stuff

Probably not going to be in here much again today. Something about an Astros/Yankees series brings out the stupid in too many people.

My prediction for this thread... more of this by some "die hard baseball fans that happen to be yankees supporters":

Wasn't that also the week where supposedly mike trouts trainer went on instagram and said he's taking PEDs

The Astros do have trade chips. What they don't have is the ability to take on his salary for the rest of the season unless the Cubs would take Odorizzi (they just might) and Joe LaForce (lol) plus pay half of his remaining salary PLUS the prospects.

So basically, no chance...unless you got really creative and had them take CK as a salary dump/swap.

We don't have another shortstop to replace Correa so that wouldn't make sense. Bregman is not an everyday shortstop.

The original "buzzer" conspiracies came from a Twitter account claiming to be Carlos Beltran's niece.



It was retweeted and amplified into the mainstream by Jomboy (a Yankees fan) who had put together the compilation video of the Astros trash can banging so it was granted credibility on the basis of Jomboys retweet.

However, Jomboy and the entire media ignored this part of BuzzerGate that also came from "Beltran's niece"



Fairly quickly in response, Marly Rivera of ESPN reached out to the Beltran family and they said they don't know who this person is claiming to be Beltran's niece.

Past that, someone realized he'd had a Twitter interaction with the @S0_blessed1 account in the past and realized it was notorious internet troll Incarcerated Bob, whos been called the internets most notorious sports rumor monger.

That didn't matter. Jomboy put it into the mainstream, sports journalists amplified it as legitimate and never questioned the source and despite MLB explicitly stating there was no evidence electronic devices were worn, the buzzers are still totally a thing to clowns like you.

So which is it Peej? You can either admit the buzzers were a bullshite conspiracy that you fell for hook line and sinker or we grant them legitimacy but you gotta admit Gleyber Torres was wearing one too since both claims originated in the same place.
