I'm sure that has a lot to do with it being an early start... nothing wrong with giving McCann and Beltran's old knees a little rest.

Yeah there's zero reason to start McCann behind the plate in a day game after a night game

The news is even better for the Astros, whose 11 1/2-game lead is the second-largest divisional advantage at this point of the season in MLB history. The record holder, the 2001 Mariners, were up 14 games in the AL West on the final day of May and ended up winning the division by that same spread while going 116-46, tying the major league's regular season record for wins. Houston is currently on pace to win 112 games and is the fifth team in MLB history with a double-digit game lead heading into June. The previous four teams to do so—the 1971 Giants, '99 Indians and 2007 Red Sox, in addition to the record-setting Mariners—all took home the division crown, with the latter three all winning at least 96 games. In other words, don't expect the Astros to be seriously challenged this summer as they head toward their first division title since 2001.

The Astros have a pair of early MVP candidates in Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa and a leading Cy Young hopeful in Dallas Keuchel, the 2015 winner. Then there are the numbers. Houston leads the American League in runs, hits, batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage, as well as ERA and strikeouts.

wtf that was satisfying to read

Cueto can opt out at the end of this season.

There is also a team option for a 7th season, which would be 2022.

What type of pitcher is this paulino cat? Should I see some heat or is he all about command?

Also whose the long man in the bp RN just in case we get some first game jitters?

Paulino is a 6-foot-7 gas thrower who is all arms and legs basically.

I'm not expecting much. He's a 4A guy who probably ends up in a bullpen.

I wager every person, other than yourself, in this thread will smile to themselves no matter what the game outcome is... so long as you lose your rent money.
