His contract runs through next season, though he's technically team controlled and isn't scheduled to hit free agency until 2023.

Mlb Draft coming up on June 3rd. Anyone have any predictions? I’m thinking best bat available... I’m very biased in my first round pick this year. I doubt he lasts long enough until the Astros first round pick, but I’d love to see them get Brett Baity from Lake Travis HS. He is a UT commit, but I’m pretty sure he’d sign with the Astros.
I’ve been able to watch him play many games the past two years. He will be an absolute star. The kid works harder at getting better than any kid I’ve ever seen. His family is first class people. And he can absolutely rake.
