Wesneski, Arrighetti, Javier, Garcia, and France. A full rotation injured right now. Might as well throw in Urquidy too because he’d be on the roster if he was healthy

Really hard to justify spending money on pitchers with the rate they all get hurt these days.

Stinks for Hayden.

Saw yesterday Spencer was still in a cast so he’s at best a month away.

It has to be something with our training/medical staff. No other team in the league has Tommy John at the rate we do. It’s preposterous

And if there really is something wrong with Abreu…I know he’s a reliever but still.

With Arrighetti and eventually Javier due back, it’s gonna take a LOT more from this offense to give the FO the feeling that they could make a deep enough run in the playoffs to need Framber

JMO

If they know they are not re-signing him, how much better are his starts over any of Blanco, Arrighetti, or Javier’s for likely one playoff series at best. He gave up 3 in 7 to a team that recently fired their hitting coach and we needed a 3 run shot in the 8th to win

If a team loaded with prospects that has a legitimate shot at a WS puts a significant piece on the table for less than half a season of Framber’s production, you have to take it. Is Framber’s starts THAT much better than the others, esp when you consider our present roster and what its prospects are to run the table?

Missed the game, but planned on watching on record once back home. Didn’t realize it wasn’t on SCHN and then I was on espn checking golf scores and I saw the headline that they broke up a no hitter late and outlasted the Rangers. Dubon going 0-3 on 3 pitches is truly amazing work.

They are not going to sell one of the most valuable parts of this team if they are in the mix for the division in July, which is highly likely. I think should and could have made a similar deal to Tucker with Framber in the winter. But those are offseason deals.

And yes, Framber is that much better than an Arrighetti or Javier.

We're going to miss Framber terribly when Crane let's him walk. He can be super frustrating with some of his mental meltdowns or his lack of competent Fielding. But what an anchor of the rotation hes been. He stays healthy, pitches nearly 200 innings, typically doesn't get knocked out early and he always a ground ball away from cleaning up a mess.

I just think its going to be such a massive hole to replace what he gives us.

He was/is a lot more attainable on an extension that would be palatable to this ownership, so I retain a little hope. But typically when a guy reaches this point (with any franchise, not just the Astros) he is gone.

Framber is incredibly frustrating at moments and a bit of an enigma but he is excellent.

Yes, and as such, I base my opinion on the fact that we have not locked him up already

Impossible for me to bury my head and see this team making a championship run with this roster in its present state. Sure, if somehow through smoke and mirrors, this team goes on some kind of incredible run offensively, they won't entertain any offers.

But most likely this team is down to the last week like the last 2 seasons. I know you don't disagree with any of that. Your contention is that nobody will give up a significant piece for him as a rental.

I'm saying somebody will, and we can agree to disagree.

Of course they will, it’s just going to be in the form of prospects and not established major league players they would subtract off their current roster

So Framber pitches a Game 2 giving up 1-3 runs in 7 innings and a replacement 2-4 runs in the same 7 innings.

Does it matter when our offense is shutout or hitting a solo HR? Do you really think this team has a shot to make a WS run?

Furthermore, I think the hope you have that we sign Framber to an extension also poses problems. Wouldn't that probably mean we have given up any chance to sign Brown?

ETA- I did not downvote you

I’m telling you what I think they’re going to do. Crane is not going to sell at the trade deadline if he and the front office have a chance to win the division.

If they can make some sort of player for player deal to get an established OF bat then I guess could see it, but those are incredibly rare at the trade deadline.

They are simply not going to trade Framber for a package of prospects if they are within striking distance, I would be absolutely stunned
