I like the lineup way better than last years. Not seeing or hearing the name Dominguez makes a huge diff.
We need Castro to bounce back and start hitting like he did two years ago. He could be the x factor

Agree 100% Castro has got to get it going this year.
He put a good swing on that line out to Left. Hopefully those will start falling and he'll get in a groove
ETA: leave Matty D out of this

Says the guy that said Deshields was better than Altuve

I'll take the under 12 K's.

ValBueno is better than deshields. Trade rape...and it wasn't a trade. Suck on that for a while.

Great time tonight. Sat in the top row of the nosebleeds

Made for a great picture at least.
As an aside, I'm watching the Rangers game and I'm thinking frick Selig for sticking us in the west. Not looking forward to games being in the 7th inning at 11:30.

Yeah. I said it. I admit that I had Altuve wrong - I thought he was a 5 feet 5 inch fluke. I also had Matt Dominguez wrong - I was so sure the guy was going to be a stud 3b.
So what have we learned? I can admit when I get something wrong.
Get ready, my big prediction going into this season is that Brad Peacock turns the corner when he's healthy this season and wins 16 games. Yeah, I'm probably wrong about that too.
Get over yourself.

one of the most unforgiving things commissioner has ever done. I miss the NL central so much. It bugs the hell out of me watching the cubs vs the cards, I miss playing those teams

You sound just like my wife. And, I've noticed you're on your period a lot too.

I changed the thread title to include today's off day discussion instead of starting a new thread FYI.
Carry on.

One thing I love about Springer is how much fun he seems to be having and how loose he keeps everyone. You saw him goofing around with guys like Rasmus and Marisnick in the dugout and after the game. I hope he's here for a long time

The Astros need to lock him up and not low ball him they tried to do before. If he gets to free agency he's gone pecan.

That's an awesome picture
My general thoughts:
DK looks legit. Obviously didn't get to watch him much last year but damn. He's composed, didn't miss in the middle of the plate and that GG defense was on point.
I can't figure out who my X player is. I said it last night but if Marisnick hits .270 or so with 20 SB, along with his defense, we're in business. If Castro hits like he did in 2013, we're in business.
I really like the lineup and again, we should have one of the best OF defenses. I was surprised by Valbuena's glove, he saved the game by not allowing that shot down the line to get past him.
Bullpen was on point. Hinch seems like a great mix of youth, energy, communication, and a good game manager. Sounds like he really engages the players and wants to hear from them. Something we know Bo didn't do.
Love that I can watch my damn team again.

The more interviews I see and read with Hinch the more I like him honestly. I was skeptical about the hire big time but he seems like a great voice for a young group.
Every time I've watched Keuchel all he does is pump strikes and keep the ball down. Even if he regresses a little bit I think he's going to be a really solid lefty in this rotation for several more years.
