And it’s quality depth too
Pressly, Taylor, Scrubb, Parades, LaForce, Bawez, Stanek, Raley.
If you can get anything of James and Pruitt that’s a plus. Abreu has upside
Hopefully they aren’t done and get Hand too. Need someone you can feel comfortable with getting last three outs

If we can get Hand that would be something. Would love the mix of experienced back end guys along with the youth of Taylor, Paredes and Scrubb. Would do wonders for those guys

Really really like the Baez addition. Good depth. He isn't going to be extremely heavily relied upon. Get a decent closer along with Joe Smith and everyone else we have I like our bullpen.

Seems like all those guys are pretty locked in other than Scrubb. Hand would be nice, but wonder if they’re in on any back end starters so Javier can move to the bullpen. That would be a solid top 8 right there and you can always go after a setup or closer type at the deadline.

I think that’s the plan for Javier. Future’s in the pen.

Don't send baby Pedro to the pen just yet!

He’s 22
.359/.420/.678 with 21 home runs and 61 RBIs in 65 games in the Cuban National Series. Supposed to be a very good center fielder with a cannon. So he’s pretty good

Below is the scouting report from Fangraphs. Using $4m on him this is basically our first round pick that we lost. Sounds pretty boom or bust but if he booms he could be awesome
quote:
A 5-foot-9 stick of dynamite, Leon has a big power/speed/arm tool trinity. He was cleared to sign last December but an oblique injury moved back his workout. When it was finally held, teams got a text on the way there saying that Leon had a deal with Houston already done. He hit 15 home runs in 33 Cuban National Series games before a shoulder injury sidelined him. The shoulder is healthy, and with his power, elite arm strength and incredible bat speed from the right side, Leon is the sort of player who would have prompted teams to burst through their bonus pool when they weren't hard-capped. The success rate of Cuban hitters, especially ones who have had a long time away from baseball during their relocation process and pre-eligibility period, is highly variable.

I had missed this but apparently we are interested In Benintendi and it seems like a certainty Boston will deal him somewhere LINK
I like him as a reclamation guy and don’t think he would cost a ton in trade capital but probably takes us out of resigning Brantley. Not sure if he can profile in CF defensively

Also if he gets dealt to Oakland it’s a guarantee he becomes a 3-4 win OF and tears us apart the next couple years

He profiles poorly in CF... negative runs saved across the board.

Is it finally time to say we're glad we drafted Tucker over Benintendi?

I would overpay for Brantley. He can play adequate LF in most parks, and you will not find a better QAB from LF in either league, regardless of which arm side he is facing
If we don’t re-sign him, it will be Charlie Morton 2.0
