Framber Valdez is (NOT) ready.

Oh. Here's more fun News from Bregman

quote:

Bregman, coming off a breakout year in 2018 in which he led the Astros in nearly every offensive category and finished fifth in the American League Most Valuable Player Award voting, said he told the team to renew him at the league minimum of $555,000 after they couldn't reach an agreement, and the Astros instead renewed him at $640,500.

"I'm just disappointed and I feel like I outperformed that last year," Bregman said. "I understand that it's a business, but I feel like good business would be wanting to make a player who performed at a high level on your team happy and want to feel like he wanted to be kept and feel like they wanted him to play here forever. I'm just disappointed it doesn't seem like the same amount of want."

I'm not sure if any player this early in their professional career with this much time left before arbitration has agreed to any kind of longer term deal.

Why would the Astros pay him more now AND later, when later is not a given? I mean, he wasn't arbitration eligible, was he?

I don't think Alex is comfortable without a few chips on his shoulder.

He's absolutely right. They need to pay him at least what Correa makes. This system sucks

I have a feeling in the next agreement player like Bregman and Snell will be in line for a massive raise. Maybe no what they're really worth but closer to 10 million

Yeah I mean it sucks for him, but he went on to say this wouldn’t effect negotiations in the future.

And I think Jwho is right, he needs something to rally against

Tucker came damn close to making the team out of ST today.

Reddick got wrecked by Alonso. The collision was much more impressive in real-time. Slow moton doesn't do it justice. But the helmet flying should give you a good idea of how big the impact was.

... aaaaand Francis Martes has received an 80 game suspension for performance enhancing drugs.

Not a good look while rehabbing from TJ.

Discomfort alert: Verlander has allowed 3 home runs tonight and just threw a first pitch fastball down the middle at 91 mph that was crushed.

I told everyone this staff is a problem. They are wrongly counting on Verlander and Cole to repeat last year and also stay completely healthy. And even with that, they need 400 innings from miley/mchugh/rookies. Lunhow shite the bed.

Might as well bring back Appel on a one-year prove it deal.

Jd Davis could have matched whites production and also given you 50 or 60 innings of pure gas!
