I bet money LMJ is part of the trade.

I think everyone is thinking prospects but I bet it’s something like:

LMJ
Fisher
Moran

Why would he trade one all-star pitcher (who is younger) for another? Plus giving them two other young promising players.

No way.

I could maybe see McHugh since he doesn't really have a rotation spot anymore, or Peacock.

@Feinsand
Source says that although there’s no Pirates-Astros deal for Cole, “It could still happen.”

As quickly as this went from imminent ti no deal in place, This smells of a flagged medical issue on one of the players.

And I'll bet money that he isn't.

+1. Was just telling the same thing to a coworker who is also an Astros die hard. Specifically McHugh, who hasnt really been linked to the bullpen, but I would think the Pirates value Peacock more.

There is no chance in hell LMJ is in any trade.

Keep in mind DK is most likely gone after this year. Stros may end up over paying for someone as long as there is team control.

I'm assuming they know DK is gone to go and get their next guy.

So you're choosing to forget he was an All Star last season?

ETA: Wait, now I get it. This is a poor troll job. Got it.

Not much of a troll job. Sort of agree. Was he not lights out as a closer in the playoffs?

I could go either way Acquire Cole. Move LMJ to closer

LMJ is going to have to move to the pen sooner or later. He's never going to stay healthy enough to make it through a full season as a starter.

LMJ is destined to be the closer, which he should be, he has ice water in his veins. And it would allow him to not rack up too many innings

ETA: DK is absolutely gone after this year, necessary casualty though if it means keeping Altuve & Correa
