Yeah I wonder who would lose ABs if we didn't trade someone. Cespedes is a solid OF but I think Gattis would lose the most ABs honestly

Didn't I call for this like two days ago? Doubtful that crane will spend 100 mill.

If Cespedes is signed, would Gomez/Tucker/Musgrove be enough for Carrasco? I know some is going to say we can swap Feliz in for Musgrove but I doubt it.

Gomez and musgrove would be enough for that one baw. But lunhow would probably give them springer instead of gomez...just for the lulz.

I think you have to give more because Gomez is only under contract for a year and Musgrove is injury prone.

If we can sign Cespedes and then swap Gomez and prospects for a starting pitcher (Carrasco or whomever) then we will have gotten a lot better this offseason.

With Gomez and Rasmus FAs after next year I am starting to see the side of adding an OF

Get rid of gomez as fast as possible. For as much as we can get.

I'm drooling over the idea of a Correa/Gattis/Cespedes heart of the order.

If we got ces I would move Gatti and have tuck play DH. Need another lefty in there on most days. Gattis is a very likeable player bUT not a great player.

I agree I'd rather tuck at dh but I was going by the scenario we moved Gomez + tuck+ another for a pitcher.

Or trade Gomez for prospects we can flip.

Gomez is coming off of an injury plagued season that included a failed physical and isn't under team control after this season. I may be underestimating his trade market value, but I cant see Gomez alone netting anything significant. Even if you think he rebounds nicely this year, which I do, his return value right now is probably at it's lowest and the Astros would be selling him for pennies on the dollar. Receiving any value in return for a trade involving him will likely also require us to send a highly ranked prospect(s), imo.

C'mon guys. If we get Cespedes, where is the only spot with a glaring deficiency?

It would give us a lot of flexibility which I think is something that Luhnow and Hinch really value. I would still be pretty surprised if we end up signing him but I like that we are aggressive in looking for ways to improve the team
