Y’all wondering what happened to Jake…. I’ll tell you what happened.
FODB out here playing Chesskers messing with the Red Sox heads… is Jake in, is he out… they totally losing focus with the grand master Chessker move.

At least the Astros have gotten the misery out of the way early the last 2 games so that we could get on with other things in our lives on those days. It would help if they weren’t behind 8-0 and 6-0 after 2 innings. But the offense can’t go 1-2-3 like it did in the first inning last night. It needs to do damage and do it early.
The sliver lining is if this thing ends tomorrow, so, too, will the Dusty Baker era conclude. At this point in the calendar year, I’m all about whatever long-term positives can come from short-term pain. I’ve seen it happen with LSU football. I want a World Series title or a new manager. No half-measures.

Not to bring down the mood any further but Todd Kalas just said on 97.5 in Houston that he thinks Dusty will be back in 2022 no matter what happens in this series

Another wasted season.

I'd be ecstatic with both.
I will have monumental depression if Dusty is back next year... with or without another WS ring.
I will still find great joy with hearing the words, "I am proud to introduce your next Astros Manager, (damn near anybody but dusty here)"
Only person worse than Dusty... Jimy Williams, Part II.
Honestly, I'd like to see Craig Biggio take over, but I know that will never happen because of too much risk.

I think winning the World Series and Dusty riding off into the Marijuana hazed sunset is the perfect fairy tale ending.
He might even be more likely to retire if they win it all.

I’m envisioning a full season of sub-par pitching and a lineup without Carlos Correa… with Dusty in the dugout?
No thank you.
I’ll be a band wagon braves and blue Jays fan.

**silver lining alert**
He later clarified his statement in the interview and said that he doesn’t believe the decision to keep him will be based on the outcome this series due to the injuries. He said if they wanted to keep him before the postseason started then they’ll still keep him and if they wanted to move on they’ll move on.
So you’re telling me there’s a chance.meme

Did you… did you just tell me the bad news, in a good way?

Charlie Morton is the first pitcher in postseason history to allow 4 walks and a home run in the same inning.
Challenge accepted.

Was really getting squeezed the first two innings.

The ideal is the Astros winning the World Series with Baker getting lost in a marijuana forest not long after. But if they don’t get past this series, I was hoping they would can him, with his contract up and a GM that didn’t hire him pleading with the owner to let him hire a real manager.
And I don’t want to hear about an injury excuse. As far I’m concerned, you can lay any pitching injuries at the feet of Baker and Strom.

So you're telling me Kalas doesn't know shite.
I'm shocked. The only thing missing was Blum yelling "absolutely outstanding " in the background

What I want to know if there's a direct correlation of arm injuries and the insistence on high spin rates

If this series end in 5 he can just stay and legally smoke all he wants.
