He has reportedly talked to both, and is the top choice for both. I know money will probably be the end factor, but which school has the better chance at long term success under Hurley?

Pitt. It's in the ACC, and while 7 players leaving after this season may tank the short term success of the program, it will allow Hurley to essentially build the roster from scratch with players he wants.

Pitt no question. Great school. Great facilities. Great city. Great conference.

If im being honest, is Pitt really that much better of a job than URI? Im probably being bias but I dont think it is.

I'd rather stay at RI and wait it out for another job

A10 has gotten more teams in 3 of the last 5 years.

Also A10 still had 3 teams in what was the worst its been in over a decade.

But my point being, URI can always fight for top spot in A10, Pitt struggles in the top half of ACC

He chose UConn. Wonder what they offered him since Pitt reportedly offered 5+ years at $3+ million a year.

Pitt offered more money than UConn according to the ESPN article.

quote:

While the Huskies lack high-level talent, Hurley still believed the program represented his best opportunity to be successful, sources said, even though Pittsburgh offered a more lucrative deal.

The Panthers were winless in the ACC this past season, Kevin Stallings' second with the program, and nine players have requested their releases and will consider transferring. Sources told ESPN that Pittsburgh's offer to Hurley was in excess of $3 million per year.

URI's offer, per sources, was $2 million per year for seven years beginning in July 2019 with a commitment to build a basketball-only practice facility to be completed within the next two years, along with staff salary increases and ability to charter for all away games.

That is a really nice offer for a mid-major.
