I’m sure the people at Oregon are thrilled with the timing.

Unless its something health related, then he must know that team is going to be terrible.

personally thrilled with the timing, 3 months ago I'd be very nervous as this exact minute about my team.

Pulling a Tony Bennett so they are forced to hire his assistant.

This is the first thing I thought of. Same as Bruce Pearl.

However, it could just be that once these guys get into the heat of preparing for the season they realize they are burnt out and no longer able to give the team/program their best effort.

Maybe he’ll change his mind tomorrow like he did after he took the Arkansas job.

Dana had a hell of a career. Without Dana, there literally is not a Creighton basketball program. The school was close to cutting the program in the 90s.

He then takes over a laughing stock program in Eugene and had a 4-6 year stretch of being a pretty elite program, including a Final Four

Got his 1st head coaching opportunity at Moberly Area Community College in podunk Moberly, Mo. a prison town. Also, where the likes of Charlie Spoonhour & Cotton Fitzsimmons got their start. He coached and played a huge part in getting the likes of Mitch Richmond, Gerald Wilkins, & Bernard Day to the NBA while at the MACC.

Cutting the program? They went to the tourney in 1989 and 1991...
