Over the years I've heard / read many medical professionals speculate on what Kenny Schrader saw when he lowered Dale's net. It's horrifying.
Yeah he basically bled out in the car. You can see large amounts of blood in some of the pictures.

Peter Revson went through one of those ole guard rail barriers in South Africa. The car went through the lower barrier. The top one took his head off.

Open wheel/F1 stuff is just way too dangerous for me to ever want to do something like that. You feel a lot safer with that cage around you.

Well... that was just a dark hour watching some of those terrible wrecks. F1 / Indy Car seems incredible dangerous.

I remember this. Just horrible.

F1 I think has done a good job on safety since Senna’s death. The Bianchi deal was preventable but also kind of a freak accident.
IndyCar at Indianapolis and Texas (or any oval bigger than short ones they run) is just always going to have that higher risk of death. The aero screen should help, but if the car gets up in the air (especially if it gets into the catch fence) bad things happen.
IndyCar is pretty safe on the road courses though.

Schrader's reaction at the car I knew Earnhardt was gone. Every now and then someone will try to ask Schrader about it and you can see it in his reaction that he will never be able to talk about it.
That should be a pretty damned seasoned crew who’ve seen a lot of shite. Many of those medical and safety guys were throwing their hands up and holding their heads. A lot of pacing around. The appearance of that wreck fooled everybody.
Nothing spectacular about it visually. But a lot of physics and brute force inside that car. The warp on that steering wheel is not easy to do without a sledgehammer and anvil. His head did that. Add to that whatever he hit that was behind him whipping back.

No!
They are of no benefit to public safety.
The accident report is of benefit.
This is still debated. Google “Porsche Girl” if you want an image you can’t un-see. Photos were released because it wasn’t Florida and her last name wasn’t Earnhardt. I remember the Earnhardt’s having to file motions in court to prevent anything getting released. One side is privacy, the other side the dead no longer have privacy. They are dead. Not supporting a position, that’s just the sides of the coin.

Maybe just being the 70’s and Europe?
That poor fella flips in the air. It’s either poor film quality or he appears disintegrate after hitting the ground and tumbling.

EmpLemon has an awesome YouTube doc about this.

I didn’t heed his warning either. Ended up falling down the graphic rabbit hole of gruesome accidents and folks getting run over by vehicles

Sorry guys. I thought everyone had already pretty much seen that or knew about it. It is a 5-10 year old accident/image I believe.
For anyone else needing a more stringent warning, it is probably the worst thing I've seen on the internet. Up there with 2 Girls 1 Cup and Mexican Cartel member murders. Of which I only watched 1.

Porsche Girl photos are not that bad. No different than going hunting and cleaning game.

It LOOKS like cleaning game, but thats a girls head.

I’m not going to google it, but what happened to Porsche Girl?

You guys should also check out the 1955 Le Mans disaster where the cars caught fire and basically exploded into the stands. A bunch of people decapitated. Gruesome but interesting wiki read.
