quote::lol:   So he moved them up to 4a? 4A was arguably better alot of the times in other sports, especially basketball. He chose 4A because it wasnt as good as 5A in football, FACT.
He would of moved up for football only but didnt want to scarifice the other sports which at the time werent as good as they are now. FACT.....

From what I understand he considered girls teams and other boys teams in deciding whether to play up to 4A or 5A.
He should have the baseball team learning how to play the "Curtis way" starting in 5th grade. He should have the girls basketball team learning how to play the "Curtis way" starting in 5th grade. He should put as much empahsis on the other sports at his school as he does on football if he wants them to be able to succeed at a 5A level.

Curtis' basketball, girls basketball, and softball can compete on any level now. In the late 90's and early 2000's they couldn't.
Do I think they should've moved up to 5A? Yes
Do I think he was scared? Maybe
He's a man that wants to dominate it all sports. He's not satisfied with his school being just good, he wants them to be great and win championships. I believe had he been able to move up in football only that he would have.
While I agree that it would be great for them to play in the Catholic league, I still think he'd dominate. Every now and then he may lose to St. Aug or Rummel but for the most part he'd go undefeated in district.

ND destroyed catholic high NI in NI and Calvary should've lost to them. When looking at similar opponents ND has the clear edge.

I think those two losses in the Hap Gaudi classic scared the shite out of him. That was when Curtis never lost. Evangel beat them the first year then WM dominated them the second year 26-7. He got to see what the best in 5A had to offer, and he didn't like it.

That should be a hell of a game to watch. Lufkin has the athletes to play with Curtis, but I dont know if they have the discipline. When is that game and where? Wouldnt mind hitting that one up if its reasonably close.
Curtis seems like they may have lucked out a little bit with this game. Lufkin went 5-6 last season, but they are typically much better than that.
If Curtis (and Evangel) wants to play with the big boys in the playoffs then they should have to play with them throughout the regular season as well. Not a district that includes De La Salle, McMain, Lusher, and St. Charles year in and year out.
Just an extra thought.... Rummel's schedule (as far as preseason rankings) this coming season is insane. 7 of the preseason top 25 on their schedule.

Well unfortunately they don't have much say so in what district they play in. They are only allowed to play up 1 class during the regular season. They are 2A enrollments playing up to 3A.
