dont have to go through the Catholic League gauntlet.

Curtis plays Karr, St. Aug, East St. John, and Lufkin, TX in non-district this season. I don't think JT is hiding from competition.

Well there is a cumulative effect from playing all of them in a row... At least that's what they say when we ask why they underacheive in the playoffs

The catholic league has 2 good teams and only one well coached team. How big of a gauntlet do you think it is?

FIFY. Not sure if that was a not-so-subtle jab or an honest typo but I'd call 15 years of being a state title contender more than just good "fortune." I will agree, however, that the Catholic League's strength as a whole is typically overrated.

nothing like playing powerhouses to warm up for the playoffs against the 5'7" 190 defensive lineman of St Charles catholic year after year

Catholic league pre Katrina was much more formidable. Im a catholic league homer but even I wont call it much of a gauntlet these days. Though it would be tougher then any district they've been in since Frank Wilson was at OP Walker

I never said it was a gauntlet. I just hope and pray Curtis gets a matchup with Rummel.

I think ND is better than Calvary right now.

Check out your scc comment which is obviously a slight against Curtis. Catholic League is a glass house to call other leagues weak.

I'm sure they would have enjoyed plenty of success playing down in class.

Even without 19 year olds and a lower school

They all are. Are you serious? They may not be overly talented but they are certainly well-coached. You clearly confuse the two.

Those schools usually pay their coaches more than the other high schools.

here's a good question... is Crutchfield a good coach? I mean at South Plaquemines he developed talent, or at least got them all together in the middle of nowhere, but he still had to win, and he dominated 1A

then he goes to St. Aug with Fournette there and in two years doesn't go to the Dome, despite one of those years being in class 4A and the other in a 10 team bracket in Division I
