Current Top 10 QB’s in NFL based on Individual Play

As a side quest this offseason, I studied every starting QB in the nfl last season. This process was exhaustive and took a full 80 hours during 2 of my lighter work weeks. I feel like the end result is worth sharing and contemplating as the 2025-2026 NFL season is right around the corner.
1) Joe Burrow: High IQ, historically accurate, arm strength underrated, pocket movement underrated, plays behind porous O Line and it largely does not matter.
2) Lamar Jackson. Generational athlete. Throwing ability has improved greatly over the past few years.
3) Jayden Daniels. Not quite the athlete of Lamar, but close and is ahead of schedule in terms of making reads and throwing the football. Also has clutch gene factor.
4) Josh Allen. Somewhat of a 1 man army. However, Buffalo does seem to do better when they lean heavily on the run game instead of letting Josh cook in 4/5 wide sets. A Plus runner. A Plus arm strength. Accuracy comes and goes. Ultimate Gamer.
5) Baker Mayfield. Basically a smaller version of Josh Allen that runs less and passes more. Competitive spirit is at an all time high.
6) Justin Herbert. When he’s at his best, he’s top 3. Height, arm strength, clutch 4th down throws. But he definitely inexplicably runs hot and cold at times. Still a great talent and leader.
7) Matthew Stafford. Still a great arm. Great vet moxie. Clutch. Older QB that can’t move as much, but IQ and competitive spirit keeps him in the rankings.
8) Bryce Young. Do yourself and watch the last 8 games of Bryce Young’s tape. It looked like he was back at Alabama again, but also with a little bit of added accuracy. A Plus human. The confidence is back. The pocket movement is back. Watch out.
9) Jared Goff. Great system QB for 2 different teams. Underrated overall. Arm is top tier. Gets a little panicky at times.
10) Brock Purdy. Reminds me a little bit of a modern Steve Young. Hard not to like. Stature causes him to not see things clearly and make poor decisions at times, but he’s very good overall
Bounce back candidate: Dak Prescott. He hasn’t been as elusive since a gruesome ankle injury. He also seemed to take a step back last season. Before that, he was an A Plus regular season QB that just makes a few confounding decisions in the playoffs. Adding Pickett to Ceedee could do wonders for Prescott and Dallas’s offense. Prescott elevated his performance in the 2nd half of his college career. Can he do it again?

are we excluding the starting qb's in the super bowl for a reason?

Bryce Young and an old Matthew Stafford in the Top 10.
Mahomes and Hurts not in.
Interesting strategy.

It’s based strictly on individual play, not how good your roster, coach and gm’s are. This was an unbiased film review based on factors within a QB’s control.
This isn’t a list for casuals.

OPs melt after they canceled the Buffalo / Cincinnati game was legendary
The post melt when the Bills got the 2 seed was even better
He’s a certified retard

You could put PFF out of business.
But probably not.

Cincy was effectively handed a loss for a home game they were about to go up 14-3 in and Buffalo was handed a win in a road game they were getting shellacked in. Next 2 matchups against Buffalo proved that Cincy was superior as well. NFL dropped the ball on that situation and everyone knows it.

It doesn’t fit his narrative/bias. Bad list.

“Narrative/bias” would actually mean ignoring the film and simply giving bonus points for team accomplishments achieved in a sport with 65-70 man rosters (injuries), different levels of ownership groups, 20-25 coaches, and 25ish front office and scouting members (Cincy only has 2 scouts btw).
I evaluate simply on the tape. You don’t get bonus points for any of what I listed above and/or historic officiating luck, playing in a lesser division/conference, opponents missing fg’s, etc
I’m also talking current rankings in 2025. If I was ranking back in 2019, Mahomes might have been number 1. He has not been close to that guy in a long, long time though. The film is objective and doesn’t care who you were 5-6 years ago. This isn’t a top 10 accomplishments list. Those are old, tired and basic.

I love Jayden but having him
In front of Josh Allen is retarded along with not having Mahomes on your list.
