The Lakers are the only real big market team to win a championship since Miami won two in a row in 2012 & 2013.. Even though Golden State has been in the Bay Area since 1962, they weren't considered a big market team when they played in Oakland. Big name free agents like Durant didn't go there until they started winning.
With that in mind,
The Warriors have four
Then these teams each have one:
Spurs
Cavaliers
Raptors
Lakers
Milwaukee
Denver
This is the way sports leagues should be. A team like Golden State can become a big dog by drafting great players. Nobody needs super teams. Nobody needs the Lakers, Celtics, the 76'ers or especially the Knicks to be good. The media doesn't need to talk about guys like Zion needing to go to a big market team. Giannis Antetokounmpo has national ads and so does Nikola Jokic. They didn't have to leave Milwaukee or Denver to get those ads.
If Minnesota were to win it all, an American born superstar like Anthony Edwards could become a rich, well-known man, playing in Minneapolis. Free agents don't have to go to the big name team to win. They just need to go to teams with other good players.

Definitely can’t say the NBA is rigged for big market teams
Lakers and their FT disparity would differ. League can only do so much but at some point the players have to do something as well.
Also they tried to screw over Indy vs NY but they overcame that cheating.
Thats 2 quick examples.

Edwards Halliburton are solid futures.

And the ratings would be the worst ever…
The people that bring this up and think this is remotely relevant as if the NBA is going to fold because a big market isn’t in the Finals is beyond my comprehension. Who cares?

They tried to cheat my Pacers vs NY and they will definitely try to cheat them against Boston.
It would help if Tyrese Haliburton would show up for the entire series this time. Just saying.

Very possible that this is the matchup. I think Minny handles Dallas in 5 or 6. Pacers can compete with anyone and force teams to play at their pace. I like Indy in 6 or 7 but wouldn’t be shocked if Boston beats them in 5
Should be an interesting conference finals on both sides.

Doesn’t the script always put Big market teams in?
I guess they wrote this to throw everybody off so when anyone says something about the script. You can say “remember 2024?”

Indiana?
0 and 4 to start.
Quick lesson... for most people (men and women) draft night is the best they will ever look as a professional basketball player. CC can play, has fan support, etc. BUT, and i mean big BUT... there is ZERO guarantee that it holds up. 0 and 4 is not a good start. She will have to earn her stripes in the WNBA... and she is going to get knocked around a bit. she is going to get called for the forearm push (should have been called in college)
Here's the thing. Individual stats are fine for team losers. Team wins count, and championships matter.

the wolves/nuggets game 7 was the most watched round 1 or 2 game ever. both small market teams.

It makes me think that the NBA needs to spend wisely. There is only one player in the Top 15 salaries in the NBA this season left in the Playoffs.
Name that player.
You guessed it, Rudy Gobert, 41M.

What’s crazy is no one is giving the Mavs any chance at all…the question is, why? They have 2 stars capable of taking over any game, they have a great NBA defense and solid depth. Everyone who’s saying Wolves in 6 are the same ones who said Clippers in 6 and Thunder in 6.
