there are some pretty heavy accusations in that article....why didn't the guy just come out and say half our roster is ineligible?

If they aren't going to do anything about cam newton then they sure as frick can't do anything to oregon. not NEARLY as bad as what went down on the plains...from what it sounds like anyway.
Speaking of Cam... a radio guy in Alabama is claiming to have some of the Mississippi State assistant coach's audio tapes and there's more on there than was being made public before.
Specifically, the radio guy is claiming that Cecil Newton told them that Tennessee was offering about $150K and that Auburn had offered $180K.
He also said that Cam was in the room on at least one of those tapes, which gets rid of the "Well, he didn't know he was being sold!" fig leaf that's saved Auburn until now.
LINK
If this guy doesn't have evidence to back up what he's claiming, he's going to get his arse sued off by both Newtons.

You know, at first I was skeptical, but then he put "/thread" in his post.
Now I'm sold.
Now I'm sold.

That Flenory article is some shite journalism. Full of innuendo and circumstancial evidence, but light on fact.
Posted on 3/1/11 at 8:51 pm to LSUTANGERINE
I'm seeing a lot of sports writers on twitter saying they don't think its oregon.
Posted on 3/1/11 at 8:57 pm to TigerStripes06
It's likely that Oregon and its relationship with Baron Flenory (once a UNH player under Chip Kelly) and his New Level Athletics will be called into question by a piece that SI is readying. (This is what much of the Recruitocosm piece from months ago was about... but it was long on speculation and very, very, short on facts.)
That said I doubt that Oregon is the program being talked about for "serious infractions" at this point. I think that might have more to do with a program with a more longstanding relationship with Lyles than a newcomer such as Oregon.

Signs are pointing to Texas getting a not nice letter from the NCAA.
Posted on 3/1/11 at 9:04 pm to TigerStripes06
What signs? Link please. TIA

There was talk about Texas a month or so ago, with girls and recruits etc.

I don't have links...just going by what 4-5 reporters are speculating on twitter.
