Could Will Hall be one and done at Tulane?

Starting to think this a real possibility

Not sure what they were thinking with this hire but theoretically it should be a school friendly contract and easy to cut bait quickly

Unless Tulane truly doesn’t give a shite and wants to vote on dropping sports again

That was such an underwhelming hire for Tulane.

I’m not sure who would be a better replacement but at some point Tulane needs to decide where they want to be.

Either pony up the money to keep coaches like Sumrall or save money and just be a bottom feeder.

He was a disaster at USM. Don’t know why the hire was made in the first place.

Not saying this is a valid excuse, but I think they were caught flat footed by Baker staying at LSU

Nah. Tulane will probably still get to 7 wins this year. I've seen enough 1 and 2 win seasons to last a lifetime.

Tulane needs to hire a hot shot offensive coordinator and play a up tempo style. That style can sneak up and take down some big boys occasionally.

Tulane settled plain and simple. They had so much momentum from the past few years and with one bad hire has pissed away all of that momentum

Practically anyone tbh

Take a gamble on some FCS guy with a winning record and fun offense, or attempt the coordinator route again. If you are still bad then so be it.

They had a good blueprint hiring established winning coaches looking to move up then completely abandoned it for the “he won’t leave us” route

You think Will Hall is going to win 4 out of the last 5 games?

If they didn't give enough of a shite to not hire Will Hall 10 months ago then they probably won't give enough of a shite to fire him after 12 months.

Tulane can beat Charlotte's Web, Tulsa and Rice. Perhaps 7 wins is a stretch.

But I've been a Tulane fan since the early 80s. We're not firing a coach after one season.

As a Southern Miss alum during the heart of the Will Hall era….

His best and only good season was when he was forced to put his running back at Quarterback. He’s a former offensive coordinator.

Do with that what you will

He should be. Was a terrible hire like Tulane used to make

True. They are still entirely dependent on donations though, which will be pulled in large numbers

Unless they don’t give a shite about that either and are deemphasizing again

I think they went all in on Baker and when he decided to stay at LSU they were scrambling. But Hall was an extremely lazy hire.

Tulane is never going to be able to pony up the money to keep a coach like sumrall.

If a coach under 50 is winning big at Tulane he is going to leave. Everytime. And that’s ok.

In retrospect they should have done everything to keep Willie fritz. He was the potential lifer for Tulane given his age and lack of big school interest.

Couldn't believe when they made him HC. They had all that momentum after Fritz and Sumrall, and then THAT'S the hire you make. Was really stupid.

It's like they thought they could make a hire that wouldn't get poached by a bigger program if there was success, but that's just who they are and how the college sports world works. They should embrace that instead of hiring some bum just because he might be there for a longer time.

Tulane got unlucky that Fritz's family was in Houston

It has to suck that anytime Tulane finds a good coach they just leave so you're constantly in this purgatory of finding the next one

That's what happens to schools on their level. What you can't do is make hire that you think is more likely to stick around like they did with Scelfo over Rich Rod and with settling on Hall.
