Competitive yes, win no. Burrow was incredibly good and he had plenty of help with great coaches, Brady, Ensminger, Aranda and...Chase, Jefferson, Helaire, Cushenberry, Queen, Chiasson, etc.

A sure fire candidate for all time best team. Did I mention Burrow? Beast of a player and leader, everything you want in a QB.

Yes, that LSU OL was overrated and the defense was arse more times than not.

In games they won by multiple scores? They kneed in the Ole Miss game before scoring again too. Safety was coming off injury and getting abused, but the game was never in doubt.

Indiana QB doesn't run like that. The Vandy game they were trying things out, because they could afford to do so.

They held Trevor Lawrence to 18 of 37 for 0 TDs and they held Etienne well under 100 yards rushing I think.

They would've made a much better #4 seed than OU, that's for sure.

That defense had several All Pro and pro bowlers on it and lots of other solid nfl contributors who are still playing.

That defense was wayyyyyy better than it gets credit for due to basically never playing the 2nd half.

They turned it on in the post season.

Has Mendoza faced a DBs like stingley, Fulton, and a healthy Delpit this year?

Is it? It took 10 seconds. LSU's defense that year was solid.

Oklahoma averaged 42.1 points per game in 2019, LSU held them to 28.
Clemson averaged 43.9, LSU held them to 25.

Hell, Georgia averaged 30.8, LSU held them to 10 in the SECCG.

Not a chance. Stingley is an all pro generational CB. Fulton was as good as any CB playing this year too. Fulton is still a good NFL CB lol, he had a great game the other night.

When it mattered most that defense was elite and was loaded with legit elite nfl talent.

Patrick Queen is an all pro linebacker too. That defense would frick Indiana up.

Somebody came out with a hypothetical line for it the other day I saw.

2019 LSU would have been favored -8.5

Anytime we needed a stop the defense stepped up.

We just didn’t need stops real often. We coasted to 90% of our wins.

Bama, Texas, Florida, and Auburn were the only games that were really close.

Some would say Clemson but once we started scoring Clemson wasn’t stopping us and the defense put a ton of pressure on Lawrence.

Up until their conference championship game, people were still doubting whether or not Indiana was all that good. Most people expected Ohio State to win that game. A lot of talk about not really beating anyone.

There was no doubt about LSU. They wrecked shop all season

What that is ignoring is that NIL has greatly watered down the talent of the best teams.

The best current teams could not compete with the best teams of the pre-nil era.

People are forgetting the backups of those schools would’ve been starters at most power 5 programs at the time
