It’s easy to say he couldn’t make the Olympic team because he’s jump a foot under what the top US guys jump.
Go to any decent sized high school track meat and you’ll see guys jumping over 6’.
Chris Hilton jumped 6.63’ at state.
The worst height at the SEC Outdoor track meet was 6’ 7.5”
Saying this is a insanely High jump While talking about the Olympics is like saying 6’4” is tall when talking about the NBA.
To normal people yeah that’s tall. This is insane to normal people.
Olympics wise? This is nothing. This isn’t even high school impressive.

Third highest mark in the US currently (according to worldathletics.org) is 2.30 meters, or about 7'6.5". Im gonna assume that bars at probably about 6 ft or so (maybe 6'6")

Ok. You said it wasn’t a particularly high jump. It was a world record jump in the way he did it. I’m sorry if you’re too stupid to appreciate a really impressive feat because you’re too busy comparing its height to a true T&F style jump. That would be like saying that it’s not impressive to shoot a 1” group at 40 yards with a pistol because people can do it at 300 yards with a rifle. You’re trying to compare apples and oranges

Aren’t you the one who started this thread comparing it to Olympic High Jumpers?
ETA...looks like someone else started the thread. Either way, the question was if this was Olympic worthy. It’s not and not particularly close.

No I’m not, and the thread was stupid along with his response to it. Idgaf about the stupid comment about him being a possible Olympian, I’m responding to this douche saying that it wasn’t an impressive jump, which it 100% was. I’ve been around some incredible athletes and I’ve never seen anyone two foot jump up and over a height even remotely close to that

and it is an impressive jump for just an everyday person but when youre talking about olympic caliber athletes its not.
thats like looking at my 10k PR. Its an impressive time but im also not gonna go around touting myself as an olympic hopeful.
