IIRC, I think the only negative reference to gambling in the Bible was the Roman soldiers “casting lots” (rolling dice-ish) I think for one of Jesus’ garments before He even died. Maybe it was the tastelessness that gave it the stigma. Seems pretty weak to be outlawed as a sin, imo, if that was the basis.

But there are plenty of Old Testament verses that prophets and Hebrew leaders casted lots for various practical purposes. So I don’t understand where it got it’s unquestioned it’s-a-sin label.

I’m sure it was just religious leaders who got fed up & denounced it after witnessing enough people that actually ruined their lives over it (like alcoholism inspired the religiously-led Prohibition movement.) It always seems like the responsible people/majority get the short end of that kind of behavioral legislation due to a relatively few bad apples.

There’s a lot in three Bible about working hard (mostly for God) and a lot about not coveting money or being greedy.

To put simply, if you are relying almost entirely on chance to determine the outcome (Roulette, Craps), it’s a sin. If there is some degree of work or skill you have to put into doing it (Blackjack, Poker), it’s not.

If hitting a five team parlay 1 out of 100 tries is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.

It’s no more gambling than playing the stock market.

I used to spam every video with a "COME ON MY PODCAST" comment.

Has he ever had a guest? Gnug seems like the type who won't do well having to respond to another person in real time. He likes to control things.

To Catholics, yes - only if it gets to the point that it impacts your life or family in a negative way.

Wrong. I've never heard of this.
My wife's side, who's Catholic, gamble.
Catholic churches, here in Cbus, have festivals every year that include poker/black jack tables.

The whole gambling is a sin thing is some southern bs. Like not buying alcohol on Sundays. Businesses closed on Sundays. Tattoo and piercings are bad. Etc etc.

Buddha says it’s ok so I think we are good as long as you’ve been to the Orient.
