I still think the ACC is most vulnerable. UNC and UVA to big ten is still likely with Clemson and FSU to the big 12. Then NC State and Va Tech going to the SEC with Duke getting screwed.

Ugh! That South would have all the power teams.

Can someone break down a realistic possibility on how the current big12 teams could be distributed throughout the other conferences.

10 schools across 4 conferences:

Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech: PAC 16
Kansas, Iowa State: Big 16
Virginia Tech and N.C. State join SEC
Kansas State, West Virginia, TCU, Baylor to ACC

If I'm a high profile Big XII school member figure head I'm getting on the phone and talking with my peers about how to revolt against the conference office. The Big XII conference deserves to burn after this latest blunder.

Unless your name is Dave Boren or Steve Patterson, your complaints mean jack shite to that conference.

The big 12 not having a conf championship certainly hurt them, but Ohio State just gave them an incredibly easy out this year. Why pick between the two (TCU and Baylor) when tOSU gave them an easy out. I think the selection committee is thanking their lucky stars that tOSU basically made their decision for them.

they don't want to share revenue with any new school that won't really add to their bottom line...I wouldn't want to either.

they made their bed with the Longhorn network and uneven revenue sharing, teams left, now the BIG 12 sucks, funny how UT and OU are on the decline as well.

Does anyone really think the committee leaving out Baylor or TCU really worries Oklahoma or Texas about future decisions?

Those two will always schedule a decent OOC opponent and if they're in the conversation in the future it's just as possible that not having to play a conference CG could help them in any given year if teams above them lose theirs.

This is without even mentioning/discussing that their big names may help.

Not at all. OSU's performance yesterday made it impossible to keep them out of the playoffs. Nothing more nothing less. If they don't demolish Wisc. with their 3rd string QB, Baylor would have been in.

I would love for the Big 12 to add Colorado State and the Ragin Cajuns to make 12, but it ain't gonna happen.

Chicken - I believe it's all about how many are going to be invited to the breakaway when it happens. ACC, B1G, and SEC all have 14 teams. The PAC only has 12. If the goal is to get 64 total, then they must get to 4 conferences of 16 teams. So that leaves a gap of 10 teams. I believe that if the PAC 12 poaches any teams, it's all over.

I think this is the direction it's going but they're taking their time getting there. They want the average college football fan to be ok with it; almost like it was their own idea.

The PAC will invite Texas, OU, OSU, and one of Baylor, TCU, or Texas Tech to get there like they almost did a few years ago.

not sure if the goal is to get to 64 anymore...I think the goal is four conferences with at least enough teams so that each conference has two divisions and a championship game.

There are some that believe that there are teams in the Power 5 that need to be weeded out...

I agree but 64 is a nice tight number. If they come thru with their promise of not playing any games with any G5 schools then they will need low hanging fruit within their own ranks.

The lower ones won't care because they're making bank and will have a Hail Mary type of season every 10 years or so. I call it the "Northwestern Model".
