Tough ending to a great season.
Host a Super, go to our first Series, win a couple of games and probably a few fans, and it can't hurt in regard to NIL and recruiting. The future looks bright for baseball at WVU.
Congrats to UNC. Clearly they were the better team. Pulling for them to finish it off.

First year I've watched college world series because of WVU. It was pretty fun to watch for someone that isn't a baseball fan.

My wife is from Charleston. The whole family went to WVU other than her. It’s been cool to see that fan base catch the college baseball fever. Her cousins made the trip to Omaha.
I remember when they came to Baton Rouge in 2010 for the football game. They saw our stadium and were like “what the frick is that?” At that time, they weren’t even sure that WVU was playing baseball.

Maybe, but college baseball has a ton of programs that make runs and then completely disappear again so you never really know.

I moved from WV to La in the 90s and at that time I'd never heard a word about WV baseball. I remember my brother, who had already lived here a few years, telling me "They play college baseball down here."

In 2013 when a tornado devastated Moore, OK (just north of OU campus) WVU baseball was in town for a series. They ended up pitching in to the relief effort. So respect to the WVU baseball program for that, its still remembered

I have several dear friends from the Pittsburgh area (Washington, PA to be precise) who are WVU alumni. So I have always had a soft spot for them, except when they play LSU, of course. Because of that, I was pulling for them to win it all, since LSU is not in it. Now I'm pulling for North Carolina.

It wasn’t remembered as vividly because their pitching wasn’t up to the task in the BR heat but WVU smacked the shite out of Anderson (7 IP / 9 H / 2 BB / 7 ER) AND Eyanson (5 IP / 5 H / 3 BB / 4 ER) last June
Players come and go but when your bats refuse to go silently into the night in that environment on that kind of talent…that culture doesn’t graduate. Not surprised to see them inch closer

I was flying back home on the Friday before the game. I had on an LSU cap. At least 90% of the plane was WVU fans headed to the game. They had their fun ribbing me during the flight. I told them, have your fun now, it will be a different story after the game.

Sorry...I lived in Pittsburgh for a bit and heard a ton of those jokes.

The WVU-Pitt hate is underrated outside of the area, but it is real.
When LSU played at WVU in 2011, me and some buddies went to the Pirates game in Pittsburgh the Friday night before. We were all wearing LSU gear and we lost track of the number of Pitt fans who went out of their way to tell us how badly they wanted us to skull-frick the Mountaineers.
And the Tigers obliged

My biggest fear with the CWS and NIL is that its just going to become the same rotation of 10 teams fighting for 8 spots every year. I was rooting for Troy and WV this year.

Appreciate all the kind words in here.
Great run for WVU baseball.
~15 years ago, WVU didn't even have a locker room for baseball. Texas played at the old baseball field once and Coach Augie Garrido had to wait in line with fans to use the restroom. That future is definitely bright for that program.

Yeah I had no dog in the fight but I was impressed with the Pitt hate towards WVU. The Pitt fans that I knew hated WVU more then Penn St....was shocked at that.
