I personally never peeked at signs as a hitter, but I steal the shite out of the other team's 3rd base coaches signs.
This. As a hitter, I never wanted to know what pitch was coming.

Ight didn't know if she was going to remember my name since she asked for it like 4 times.

This is just completely false, have you ever played baseball?

Why the frick would you not want to know what pitch was coming? This isn't YMCA ball, by the time you are in junior high, learn to hide your god damn signs or people are going to steal them.
Is it fair? maybe not, but it's part of the game.
There is an art to discreetly stealing signs just as much as there is to disguising them.
As a hitter, I would always see if other teams signs were obvious enough to steal, but I wouldn't like actively try to decipher well hidden signs.
As a pitcher, if somebody was blatantly trying to jack my signs, you better believe they are getting one up and in

She was like "I saw your friend from Zephyrs that we saw at Best Buy." I knew who she was talking about.
I hope you and SS tipped her well.

I wasn't with SS. I was with one of the interns from 2009. Ryan, the one with spikey hair and who always had a wrestling shirt in his cubicle. We were talking about the Z's when she came up and over heard us and was like my boyfriend used to work for the Z's but I don't know what he did. I knew it was you cause no one knows what clubhouse is.
I gave her my real name and my Z's nickname and she kept forgetting. She seemed awesome. Very friendly.
She brought up this place and I was like yea, I post. She was asking me what you say about her, I go I post mostly on the MSB don't venture over to the OT. She was like I know he posts pics of me but he says my face is gone so he says it is all good. Didn't want to say too much cause I didn't know what she knew.
BTW, congrats on your internship man, I know you must be stoked.
ETA: I tipped like 4 on 11. We were still there when she was leaving but I told her to bring the check so she could get her tip.

Let me clarify. I wouldn't want a teammate tipping the pitch to me while I'm at the plate.
There's always a possibility that he's wrong and if you're thinking too much at the plate, it can be a detriment
If the person was 100% right, of course I'd want to know the pitch

What? You couldn't be more wrong.
Why do you think catchers go through like 5 signs when there is a runner on second? And any good catcher will be able to pick up other teams getting their signs and will change it up. Also when I was a freshman and sophomore on varsity our whole job was to steal the other teams signs. Keeps you in the game and gives your team an advantage.

SS must have been messing with me when he told me in another thread that he was the one with you when y'all went over there.
Was Ryan the dude who dated Dominique?
And yeah, she's a super sweet, good looking girl. Just can be high maintainence at times as most girls like that are.
And iappreciate that, my man
I actually didn't get the internship I wanted, but they gave me a gameday security job that pays $9.50/hour, so at least I'll be making some money this summer. I leave a week from today to head up there. Very excited.

When I played for Centenary I stole the signs of the Grambling coach. I was a relief pitcher so while sitting on the bench I noticed that the catcher always looked into the dug out before the pitch. The coach sat with crossed arms for a fastball and uncrossed his arms for a curve ball.
The relay was simple. First name = fastball, second name = curve ball. So, if my team mate, John Smith came up I yelled "Come on John, get a hit" if it was a fastball. I yelled "Come on Smithy, get a hit" if it was a curve.
Worked perfectly the whole game. BTW, the coach was also President of the University so one would think he was smarter.

I think what we are forgetting in this thread is this comment
fricking awesome, I think I'm making this my sig quote

The unwritten rules of baseball are stupid.
Posted on 5/6/12 at 2:40 pm to The Boat
As long as the team isn't using high tech methods like videotaping the opposing dugout, it's kosher.
Ever notice that when there's a runner on second, the catcher goes to the mound for a conference? It's so they can change the signs.
Best way to deter it is if you think the other team's stealing signs, signal a curveball down and away and have the pitcher throw a fastball up and in.

Or the pitcher throws the wrong pitch.
Bobby Thomson said that was a reason you wouldn't want to know what was coming. He didn't say whether he followed that reasoning personally.

maybe Moyer was kidding, being ironic.
does he even have two pitches?
and everyone knows that you can steal signs.
I think legitimate objections come regarding guys in centerfield bullpens with binoculars, in the case of the non-home teams bullpen has no view of the catcher's mitt.
