I've heard from several people that Peterson is a douchebag. He's a beast on the golf course but outside of that everyone who spends time with him, can't stand him.

No doubt, but it seems the ones defending him are doing so based on their fandom alone. If the UGA golfer that won had made the comments, this thread would be going much differently.

While this is true, Tangerine would never have started this thread if Peterson wasn't from LSU. A legit topic that is yet another shot at an LSU athlete from Tangerine.

As for the topic, there is a reason so few play on the PGA tour, let alone be ranked in the top 20. They are better on and around the green than anyone IMO. But the difference isn't like the minors to the majors in baseball.

i was pulling for him all last weekend and it is documented here.

Peterson's got that SWAG right now...

but honestly he needs to can it. all comments like this will do, justified or not, is add a bunch of pressure to himself that he likely does not need out there starting out as a pro

could be true, but not knowing him personally I would have no idea

there are a lot of douchey golfers, but a lot of really good guys out there too

I have no time for someone like you. You troll LSU related topics at every turn. You're a USC fan. Go find one of their boards.

Why don't YOU check out YOUR post history. It's fricking obvious what you are about my little friend. Move along.

I find it funny he's commenting on being able to compete.

Yeah seeing as he's a former #1 player in the world and a major winner. He has no idea of what it takes.

Peterson will have fun on the Nationwide next year

He has a long way to go to even have nationwide status for next year. He'll get some sponsors exemptions, and have to parlay those into status. He finished 2nd, he has no status anywhere right now.

And Daniel Summerhays won that same event in Columbus in 2007 as an amateur, and he just made it on tour this year for the first time. And he's had his uncle and brother play on tour before him.

it was a dumb comment. beating guys on nationwide tour is a lot different than beating guys on the pga tour. there is a BIG difference. just look at the 9 guys who have gotten a battlefield promotion to the pga tour: chris smith, heath slocum, chad campbell, pat bates, patrick moore, tom carter, jason gore, nick flanagan, michael sim. these guys dominated the nationwide tour. other than chad campbell and maybe heath slocum, these guys haven't done much on the pga tour.

Not really. The majority of the PGA Tour has played the Nationwide. It's in all likelihood, top to bottom, the 2nd best tour in the world. Patrick Moore has had serious back injuries throughout his career. Jason Gore won an event, and led the US Open entering the final round at Pinehurst. Michael Sim nearly won his 3rd event out.

Keegan Bradley won this year. He couldn't win on the nationwide tour. Bubba Watson got on the Tour because of Jason Gore's promotion. Jhonattan Vegas, Nationwide. Brendan Steele, Nationwide.

I could go on for days.

yeah at one time they played but usually it takes many years to develop from a great nationwide tour player to a great pga tour player. go look at the list of the 25 guys who get their pga card from the nationwide money list. i just looked at the list of guys who made the 2010 pga tour (top 2009 nationwide tour guys). the list is laughable.

Those players you mentioned are totally different players on the Tour than they were their first year on the Nationwide tour

Thats not a good comparison

That's like saying that the minor leagues are super competitive and just as tough because Albert Pujols and John Lester used to be in the minors

i had to post the list:

Michael Sim
Chad Collins
Blake Adams
Derek Lamely
Tom Gillis
Chris Tidland
Josh Teater
Cameron Percy
Roger Tambellini
Matt Every
Justin Bolli
Garrett Willis
Kevin Johnson
Garth Mulroy
Jerod Turner
Alex Prugh
Jeff Gove
Henrik Bjørnstad
Chris Baryla
Steve Wheatcroft
Rich Barcelo
Craig Bowden
Vance Veazey
Mathias Grönberg
Fran Quinn

doesn't look like these guys are competing for a spot in the tour championship.
