Ranking college football's 10 toughest places to play ahead of the 2019 season is a lesson on national relevance and where we're expecting certain teams to be in the national title picture. When we near the midseason point and the outcomes of games hold even greater impacts, that's when these cathedrals really come alive in all of their infinite glory and home-field advantage affects the psyche of the opposition.

Most of these are a shell of their former glory. The Swamp is somewhere I’d consider over some of these

Honestly, I think Sanford Stadium and Kyle Field are too high.

As a Bama fan, this is too high.

Yeah it does seem like Nebraska has a tough time getting wins there

The atmosphere at Kyle was so much better last year with a competent defense. It was absolutely deafening during the Clemson game. That said it’s still living off past reputation some and overrated here.

They've lost what, three home games this decade?

Serious question, is Oregon even relevant anymore? I don't recall anything of note from them since the Mariota left. What was the best they've done since '14? 8 wins? 9? I recall a 4 win season one of those years.

Not just that--I'm not sure a stadium whose max capacity is like 60 percent of some stadiums on here is exactly intimidating. It's like a pretty Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

I've never seen UGA that high on these lists before, and IDK what caused us to shoot so high.

We're undefeated at home the past two years, but it's not like we've been playing anyone of importance there. I think the "biggest" game, ranking wise, was vs. Miss State in 2017?

I would not put VHS in the same league as Autzen Stadium.

Tiger Stadium used to be really frickin lit back in the day, but the atmosphere has died down a bit recently

It's built differently than a lot of stadiums. The fans are almost right on top of the field there.

Lane Stadium is deafening when VT is good even though it isn't very big.

Getting screwed out of the GOAT season will do that to a fanbase.

Do they take into account the opponent?

Because I’m pretty sure Alabama has more National Championships than home losses since 2009.

Let’s be real. Alabama is tough place to win at because of the team itself and not the atmosphere/crowd
