Nah…I’m good. It’s just the state of college football these days.

It sucks to lose the illusion that players care about LSU or their respective schools, but as long as they win I won’t get up in arms. Now when they suck and still make millions like LSU did last year, that’s when I get a little annoyed, but it’s also not my money.

but maybe LSU found some money to be one of those programs, I have no idea). So if you're not one of those programs then the plan should be to push all the chips in when you have a window.

From what I heard between Graves, the oil guy, and the Silicon Valley guy we have way more billionaire fans than most.

Not my money but if these guys want to throw it around during this weird era of CFB I’m not going to complain.

I think enforcement is coming because if not, you will have too many college kids making more than NFL starters and it has to have a balance

Your logic makes zero sense.

Neither league is legally tied to each other.

I guess this solidifies Saban as the GOAT.

No chance in hell I’m attributing the same amount of success to head coaches today with $40M rosters.

Lol ok bro

You just wait and see what the NFL does if college becomes more attractive for some stars and the NCAA can’t do anything to keep guys from playing 7+ years.

On3's Pete Nakos reported that LSU has already topped $40 million in NIL money to build their roster for 2026

I distinctly remember that LESS THAN FIVE years ago the big talking point was that it would cost $15M to construct a championship caliber roster.

How in the absolute frick did that nearly triple in such a short time? This shite is beyond stupid.

Right. They don't have to directly tied for one to impact the other and one to step in to help fix the other.

The NFL can't have kids coming back for 5th years making $6 million over going to the NFL as a first rounder making $6 million

Right now the last pick of the first round makes around $3 million a year. Some kids already make more than that now

Billionaires with a win now at all costs mentality. Future health of college sports be damned, I’m gonna try to get mine. It’s the same mindset in a lot of industries.

Saban is the GOAT and 2019 LSU is the GOAT team before Covid and all the NIL madness started.

LSU stands to make out yuuuuuuuuuge. As the Rantards are quick to point out, it's not the school's money. But the benefits from a championship football dynasty are immense. Nick Saban was the most underpaid employee in the state of Alabama when you look at the donations to the school, out of state applications, building construction funds, etc he brought to Tuscaloosa.

With no direct outlay by schools and a potential windfall on the horizon, there is no incentive for universities or official organizations to "rein it in". It's going to be the Wild West for a while.

I have to say that given the boring mediocrity that defined the Brian Kelly era, I’m happy to still be called a “powerhouse” by national media
