Mandate a 1 year sit when you transfer would be a good start.
They have to go back to doing this if they want any chance of fixing CFB. EVERYBODY knows this

This genie is not going back in the bottle. It is what it is.

Bama caused all of this with their mulligan so it’s funny you started this thread Bama backs into the playoffs the two years before changes take place is kinda funny
Bama doesn’t get nearly the hate they deserve, but in this case I don’t think Bama caused it as much with their mulligan as much as their aims just coincided with the forces that did cause it.
Fwiw, Bama’s advantages in player acquisitions have been greatly reduced with NIL and the transfer portal now that the things they’ve done for years to circumvent the rules are now legal.

Are you serious?!

Since NIL became a thing, Alabama has finished #2, #1, and #2 in recruiting and has picked up gems such as Jameson Williams and Jahmyr Gibbs in the transfer portal.

. The *reaction* to Alabama's mulligan caused this. An emotional decision was made in the heat of the moment and created this mess we have found ourselves in.
Goes back further than that. Favoritism in general caused the demand for playoffs in the first place.

Bama didn't cause anything. The rest of the country was so butthurt over the Bama/LSU rematch that they refused a 4 team BCS for a committee of "experts" instead.

All of you whining have no clue what it feels like to be an alum/fan of a school that isn’t a powerhouse but can have a magical season every 10 to 15 years and then gets glossed over. An expanded playoff will finally give all teams a chance. The entire bowl system for decades was corrupt and rigged in order to make money with large fanbases. And the BCS and 4 team playoff has been a total joke because they dismiss any chance for upsets. Once we move into the 24plus playoff model you guys will see the upsets and realize the entire history of the sport has been rigged. We went from freaking liberal arts journalist majors picking the power school from their region to give Nattys to. Then we went to a closed 2 team and 4 team invitational only scam. Now we will go to a BS 12 team invitational with the SEC and BIG sending out the invites. Go to 24 plus and you’ll actually allow everyone a chance which is what has never been allowed in this sport. If some you want to quit the sport then bye. The numbers and money will prove that’s what people want. Sorry, if your team has to now actually play more than 1-2 tough games a year now.

the expanded playoff will lead to more of the same teams dominating the sport with unrestricted money, the sport is pretty much ruined
get ready for the same shite over and over again continuing

Bingo. Now the darlings can lose 3-4 games a year and be in contention while the other programs will be told they will have to be unbeaten.
Now you also have this new injury narrative as well that will finish off the sport completely.
It’s just going to get more and more blatant with the bias to get the top darlings in the top 12. It’s going to be hilarious watching the mental gymnastics from the media to get 0-1 loss teams out so 2-3 loss OSU, Bama, Michigan or Norte Dame in.

Are they saying that the old beauty pageant is better than a 32 team playoff? The beauty pageant is what was wrong with how the top division of college football crowned it's national champions.

You guys are funny. Saying a playoff will lead to the same teams, etc. What do you think the last 100 years has been? ND would have several more Nattys if we stuck with journalism majors picking the champ. Is that what you want to continue? The 4 team playoff is as big a joke as the beauty pageant days because ESPN predetermines who gets an invite. The 12 team playoff will be great for 8 fanbases who will get in every year. That will cause the thing to expand. I give it 6 years. Whether my team makes it or not is irrelevant because I’m a fan of the sport and I don’t get my panties in a wad because my team isn’t a powerhouse. But I do think teams who have excellent years should get a fair shot. What you are seeing is the old guard who controlled the velvet rope being replaced by much smarter TV people who knows what sells - hope and fairness. All you guys who say you will leave the sport can go on then. No one will miss you.

The super conferences getting together have all but assured us that the 12 team playoff will be the SEC vs Big Ten Challenge with a couple wild cards. College football will essentially become a rerun every year.
