Lol at your reading comprehension.
I am not a Colorado fan, I just live up here.
I said the people I know who are fans were gloating about how it started (though that ended quickly in season 1 when the wheels fell off).
I said they were happy with the season 1 to 2 improvement, but largely attributed it to the watering down of Big12 competition.
I said they think this extension is premature and wanted to see if Prime can sustain the improvement with new blood. They think last season was a bit of fools gold and are skeptical it will continue with turnover of talent.
Now that the board extended him with top 10 money, they expect to win a weak Big12 and get to the playoffs. While winning more was nice, the expectation is now about more than beating recent history.
Just reporting fan sentiment, which was fine under the previous contract based on the last two seasons, but none of them are OK with this move unless he wins tangible things like a conference championship and playoff berth in a 2nd tier conference. Thus the separation of board vs fan expectations - or buying the hype vs actual outcomes for the team.
Time will tell who was right. The fans will jump right back on board if this is successful.

They desperately needed him to get hired by the cowboys.

They were on the right track. He went and had an interview with Dallas. He was looking to get out.

His son was used as a bargaining chip to get a Coach O-like retirement contract.
Much like LSU should have waited before extending Coach O after 2019, Colorado should have waited to see what Sanders did without his son and Travis Hunter, though it may have been more difficult for Colorado since there was probably a higher risk of Sanders being hired by another program.
LSU had no risk because no one else wanted Coach O, so there was no reason to extend.

I was 100% sure he was gone after his kids and Travis moved on.
Props to Prime for staying but I doubt he makes it to 2029.

They’ll be eating that buyout within 2 years.
He is the best Colorado football coach to be coaching at CU in a very long time. Worth every penny for Colorado to spend on him.

What does this have to do with whether or not he deserved the massive contract for accomplishing absolutely nothing other than getting celebrities and former NFL players on the sidelines?
i mean he did take them from 1-11 to 4-8 then 9-4
I get he pisses yall off and that he had his son and Travis but he recruited travis
i also understand he doesnt do things normal but man
yall got to chill some. He has brought so much good pub to colorodo, prolly 100+ million in free marketing and he has done well on the field

do you think that media exposure and marketing isnt worth $$$
you look like a dumbass when you say things like this
do you not understand how much more $$ the school is making because of him? do you not think applications are not up? do you think they arent selling way more apparel?

umm yea
do you think the schools are in it for the purity of the sport?
they are in it because it promotes and brings money to the school.
but frankly his turnaround of them has been one of the best in the country
hate all you want but he has brought tons of $$$$ to the school
in the end...you get paid based on revenue you bring in. that might be strictly from winning, might be marketing or a combo of the two

No. In the end you get paid to win. That’s still TBD.

ok fine, he has raised that level 900% in last 2 seasons from before he took over
but no, you dont get paid to win. its the real world, you get paid on the revenue you bring in
if you win do so very very boring and bring in little revenue...you do not get paid.

No use in arguing. The goal posts will just get moved again. First it was that he couldn't win at this level. Then it was that he would leave as soon as Shedeur left. It will just keep moving with the irrational anger people have towards Deion.

which i dont get...he is a Christian man who is spreading the word of the gospel, requires certain GPA, has extremely high standards, provides real world training etc etc etc and people still hate him.....he is everything the board says they want in a coach...yet they hate him because he is cocky, loud, boisterous, etc
