how could she be entitled to future earnings… plus why would the judgment be based on money not received (gross vs net)

Assuming they determined that "guaranteed" money was considered earned at the moment the contract was signed?

But had he been fired for cause, the money would not have been guaranteed and he wouldn't have received the buyout, right?

I'm not a lawyer and without reading any rulings, it seems like they are considering events that happened after the fact to get his ex-wife her money.

And please, save me the whole ‘he completely TANKED our entire program’ schtick. No he didn’t. A ‘completely tanked’ program doesn’t get turned around in 2/3 years.

I wouldn’t even blame it on Orgeron much… after a team like that everyone is gonna go pro if possible… and then COVID was right after… a perfect storm

You watch and play and enjoy football for seasons like 2019… I’ll gladly accept a few rough years for having the team of a lifetime.

I don’t know who would hire him but wouldnt mind seeing him coach again

If only there weren't rule changes that occurred right around that time that allows for almost full scale roster changes to occur in one offseason, you may have a point.

But there were.

Why are you speculating about what they considered when you haven’t even read the ruling? Just go and read it. You don’t have to agree with the court’s position, but read it for yourself.

I took your advice and read it. I agree with McCallum's dissent.

Here's the opinion for anyone else wanting to read it.

It's certainly somewhat persuasive, but I choose to agree with the majority because of my dislike for O.

I just read it… I disagree with their opinion (not a lawyer so I’m more than likely not qualified to disagree with their opinion)… but from my understanding… she would be entitled to half of the contract regardless if O got fired 3 years later… how does that make sense??? … so the precedent is all contracts signed in Louisiana by a married person are actually 3 party contracts

Oh piss off. Like I said, he was always trashy and dumb. His “major part” of 2019 was clapping on the sidelines and having the wherewithal to not frick up what was working. For that, I guess I will give him credit.

He assembled the greatest offense I have ever seen and you still shite on his best. What a shite fan you are.

you can dislike him all you want but

1) the divorce is her fault
2) its a terrible ruling that has implications for a lot more men than O

If it's so easy to just go undefeated with Burrow, Chase, Jeffferson, CEH, and so on why arent the rest of the neanderthals accomplishing this?

Is it? He filed.

Does it? Look, the guy realized what he had done once he filed for divorce. He even tried to have the effective date of his operative contract changed, which is shady behavior.

Are those guys still on the same team? And who said it was easy? It's incredibly difficult.

How LSU men can be happy that Orgeron is getting railroaded by a woman and an unfair justice system I have no clue.
