Does anyone know which game is the largest historical point spread for a conference championship?

I googled around for a couple of minutes but couldn't find any info.

In Bama’s defense, it must be nice to use the entire regular season and ACCCG as “practice” to prepare and gameplan for 2 playoff games, which is basically the case at Clemson in the current landscape of the ACC.

I heard on ESPNU that Clemson plays more players per game than any other team. The effectively does two things:
1. Keeps starters fresh for the end of the season.
2. Minimizes the drop off from starters to back-ups.

Last year Clemson used the entire month leading up to the Nd game to get ready for bama.

I think it would be Texas vs. Colorado in 2005.

In Clemsons defense, Bama did have a higher margin of victory in their SEC games last year than Clemson did. I think I read that Bama won their games by an average of 35. So they basically had just as many practice games as Clemson did.

Right. They were playing an undefeated team who many predicted would beat Clemson, but they were preparing for a game they may have never played, yet they still beat ND by 30-40. Man, can you imagine what they would have done if they actually prepared for ND.? They would have won by 300!

I mean, you may be right to be sarcastic about it, but there were reports out there that a Clemson staffer said they spent the entire time preparing for Alabama, not Notre Dame.

To add to this, that's why they made the move to Lawrence. They knew Kelly Bryant couldn't beat Alabama. Their schedule was so bad they put a true freshman at QB knowing he'd get tons of experience before the NC without fear of losing. Dabo said as much.

Dabo's walk-on son has caught a pass in multiple conference games this year. That's how you know their schedule is trash.

Yep

There aren't any teams over there they have to even worry about. Hell. A&M was the best team they played

The ACCG has been a total shite show from the start. It’s usually been an awful game with basically no one in the stands

The source of the article is a Bama fanboy/sore loser.

That's the "New" narrative excuse for Clemson's success...The "Old" excuse was that Clemson would get thumped in the Playoffs because they would not be able to compete with SEC teams because of the superior talent the SEC plays every week...well that didn't prove to be an effective excuse so now the reason was changed to Clemson is a more "More Rested" team....

It must be nice to have all of the built in excuses rather than the simple fact that despite Clemson being a lowly ACC school that they just may simply be a better team
