I think it would be Texas vs. Colorado in 2005.

Texas was 25 point favorites

in 96 Nebraska was a 20.5 point favorite.
Texas won 37-27

Sometimes it’s hysterical how horrible some of yal’s takes are.

You really think Clemson is so good it can gameplan not only for the first semifinal team but also to somehow guess who will advance and/or gameplan for both potential championship game opponents? That’s such an impossibly idiotic thing to say.

I heard on ESPNU that Clemson plays more players per game than any other team. The effectively does two things: 1. Keeps starters fresh for the end of the season. 2. Minimizes the drop off from starters to back-ups.

You could argue that our ability to do this AND not lose a game is a result of our weak schedule, but our ability to do this is not a result of our weak schedule.

This is a result of Dabo’s comprehensive approach to personnel management. Ever since the 70 burger WVU dropped on us, Dabo revisited all aspects of personnel management and determined that in today’s game where tempo can be so deadly it’s imperative to play an extremely high number of players.

Ever since then he’s made it mandatory and an integral part of the program. It’s actually something that Venables pushed back against initially but now loves. And it’s not something where he puts in backups when up 30. During the regular season, he puts in the 2nd stringers regardless of score. There were Clemson fans who were furious that he was playing backups against UNC when it was still a one-score game, but he is adamant about them getting playing time and getting playing time when the game is still in question.

It’s one of the key reasons why Clemson sees such little attrition and sees such a small falloff when we lose, for example, four starters on the DL.

Well , the new king of the SEC is LSU.

I wonder if they will dominate the SEC for the next four years matching the 5 straight years Bama dominated the SEC.

Because Bama sure didn't have any trouble dominating the SEC like Clemson has the ACC.

Bama didn't win the SEC in 2017, 2013 or 2011

I was talking about 2014 thru 2018 . I said the last five years.

2017 proved you don't have to win a conference title to reach the playoffs.

Yeah, nobody in the SEC can talk. They let Bama run wild but little Ol crappy Conference Clemson stood up to them while the SEC cowered.

And let's not pretend beating Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Vandy is some great test. Bama had two games this year and gave up 100 points.

Of the last 3 ranked opponents Bama played they gave up 150 points.

And yet they were slated for a playoff spot. Clemson has nothing to be ashamed about.

I wasn't complaining. I was just pointing it out since LSU fans hate Bama.

What was Ohio St vs Northwestern last year? Had to be a pretty decent margin.

EDIT...Spread was 15.5

FSU was a 30 point favorite over Duke in 2013 and covered it.

Please, you don’t actually believe this straw man excuse created by SEC rantards to explain away how Clemson has continually dominated SEC teams over the past five years.

I mean, you may be right to be sarcastic about it, but there were reports out there that a Clemson staffer said they spent the entire time preparing for Alabama, not Notre Dame.

Yeah that is an article based on a single tweet from an SEC fan boy.
