It's never a wrong move to hang on to a franchise quarterback.

That said, if you gave me that deal and I could sign someone like Fitz for a year, I'd consider it. Probably still decline, though.

Smart by them

Russ is far too calculated about his image to ever get as low as he would need to go to force a trade at this point

Just wait him out, by September he’ll be saying he loves being a seahawk and they are here to win superbowls

I mean if guys like Jamal Adams are getting 2 first rounders, then Russ should fetch like 5 to start

ETA also I love the “2 starters” caveat and everyone assuming they are stud players when they likely were someone like Tarik Cohen and Archie Miller or some shite

Russell Wilson with a real OL would be fun to watch. That dude has been running for his life most of his career.

Chicago is INSANE if this is true.

Seattle is even MORE insane if they actually turned this down.

Imagine what Seattle could do with all those #1’s.

So if this were to go through, in the last 4 years the Bears would have traded

5 1sts
4 3rds
5th
6th
2 starters for Trubisky, Khalil Mack and Russ Wilson

Potentially get a QB like Russell Wilson

Potentially put together a good roster WITHOUT a franchise QB?

I doubt Wilson ACTUALLY wants to be traded. He's trying to leverage the Seahawks into (ostensibly) giving him more control of the team...somewhat similar to what Brady had in Tampa.

For their part Seattle has no desire to trade him. But they were going to do their due diligence to see what the offers might be....if not for this year, then possibly next if Wilson still wants to be traded. Worst case scenario Seattle is trying to set a "floor" for potential negotiations next season while also getting another year out of Wilson.

Wussell isn’t worth close to that.

The Hags fricked up.

You guys overvalue first round picks so much

Especially ones that would end up being in the back half of the first

Draft one. Getting a good QB on a rookie contract is THE goal of the NFL.
