Easy to get to for the fans in the suburbs. It’s a couple of exits from that giant Schaumburg mall.
They could add some express trains on game day.

That is a long way from the airport and downtown.
Pretty close to O’Hare.

Wrigley isn't in the suburbs though...
Not technically.
It’s not in the Chicago loop, and it was an outlying neighborhood when it was built. The Bears, Fire, Blackhawks, Bulls, and White Sox all play in venues closer to the loop than Wrigleyville.

apparently the mayor is against the move
If racist Beetlejuice is against it, it’s a great idea.

and downplaying what the bears organization are saying
Yeah then it’s a done deal. Bears will be playing in Arlington Heights in 2026.

Boston (Foxborough). All of them are out in the suburbs. The only mega cities with downtown stadiums are Houston and Atlanta
Fenway and the garden are as much in the heart of Boston as Minute Maid and the Toyota center
Boston is also just a really weird layout

New developments.

The Chicago Bears released their conceptual plans Tuesday for the development of the 326-acre Arlington Park property, which includes the construction of a domed stadium.
The Bears penned an open letter vowing to not seek public funding for "direct stadium structure construction" but expressed a desire to with various governmental agencies to secure additional funding and assistance for the remainder of the development, which would also include restaurants, office spaces, a hotel, fitness center, new parks and open spaces.

This sucks. Went to Chicago this summer and went to the Field Museum across from the Stadium. Its in a nice area.
Plus if they build a dome stadium, that would mean one less team that could have snow games. I’m sure its miserable to play in, but its awesome watching them play in an inch of snow

Yeah, domed stadiums make for a much more stale environment on ugly fake turf. I love watching games in the natural elements.

I disagree 100%...this is a GREAT move for the Bears. Bigger stadium. Entertainment District. Residential District. A domed stadium also gives the NFL and the NCAA another northern city to play a Super Bowl and CFP Championship game...which is desperately needed!!

Do these ever work out?

Makes me sad thinking about a dome in Chicago....I know things changes...
But visions of Butkus and his breath....the Vikings in the snow, etc are all but gone

Pretty rare these days, most teams want a welfare payout from the state/city.

Perfect annual home for the B10 title game though.

Yeah the Titans want a new $2.2 billion stadium with a retractable roof and are "only" asking for $550 million.

It’ll be completely stale and corporate.

So Laurie is going to be the mayor that lost Chicago The Bears.

They fricked up the first renovation, but that doesn't mean they should move. They should renovate again, but do it well IMO.
Losing Soldier Field would be a travesty. So much cool history. Bears home game indoors? Come on man. The elements are part of it. What if Green Bay built a dome?
The world has gotten so soft.
