I’ve actually done it a few times

I grew up a Longhorn, but became a Tiger fan when I became a student in the 80s

I was an Oiler fan even before Earl Campbell, but gave up on them when they moved to Nashville.

I was an Astros fan since the days of Nolan Ryan, but started following the Dodgers when I moved to LA, and my boys loved them. In fact, I attended Game 7 with both sons when the Astros won the WS. I even brought both hats to the game. Seeing my boys’ disappointment was tough. I officially was no longer an Astros fan when I learned about the Astros cheating.

Any other similar stories?

C on Z is the board expert in this area. You'll have to get with him.

If the Texans changed their name back to the Oilers would you support them again?

Actually, I’m a pretty stand up, solid guy.

I don’t think jumping on a plane to whip your rude, trashy arse is worth my time, but I can send you the address to the Sonic in Costa Mesa if you want to meet me there.

I side cheer for the Texans (unfortunately) and that would give me an amazing erection. BRING BACK THE BABY BLUES!

I’ve never switched allegiances, but I’ve quit watching leagues that I used to enjoy (like the NBA a few years ago and MLB this year)

I don’t really care too much about the NFL, but that sure would be interesting.

When I moved to Dallas in 1984, I didn't have a favorite MLB team, but became a Ranger fan.

Started following the Astros a little because I spent time at our Houston corporate office. Pulled for them whenever they made the playoffs.

Had to start hating the Astros when Bud Selig sent them to the AL so he could move his Brewers to the NL.

But your ok with the allegations of the Dodger pitchers using foreign substances, right? Throughout the history of the MLB, teams have attempted any and everything to gain a competitive edge. If you are a Dodgers fan bc of your kids, then that’s ok but don’t discredit the Astros. They weren’t the only ones doing it at the time.

I was a giant Astros fan until 2008 or so when the M.L.B. fricked the Astros by sending them to Milwaukee during Hurricane Ike and said frick watching the M.L.B.

There are only two times when you are allowed to change allegiances as a fan:

- attending a different college than childhood team

- when your professional team is stolen away. Like when my SuperSonics were jacked away by the small dick, tornado infested shithole Oklahoma City. Now my favorite team is the smallest market (non-trailer trash shithole OKC) that will give the NBA its lowest ratings. Bucks-Jazz 2021! Go Sonics, frick the NBA!

I bet the OP had no issues rooting for Roided up Roger and HGH Andy in the Astros first World Series appearance. Guess that was ok bc everyone was doing it back then, huh? Hypocrite!

Snoop Dawg is EXACTLY right. Other than the two situations he named, it’s NEVER acceptable to switch. Just means you weren’t a true fan in the 1st place.

Same story as me but different years. Obviously, an acceptable reason to change allegiance.

Also acceptable.

Switched from the Cubs to the Braves when I was like 9 years old. Been the same ever since.

Braves, Saints, and LSU til I die.
