chandler is just a big ole pussylip. i don't know how a skinny arse 7'1 center who avoids contact to get a rebound is going to intimidate anyone.

But, Wally, he wears some cool shoes.

So when they say done deal, does that mean he has passed his physical? Wasn't the mid-season deal considered done also?

Trade Dwest, get Tyrus Thomas and some draft picks. Tyrus doesn't have to score the points west did. We wont give up as many with Okafor and TT down there. Plus PF is the most deep of any position in the NBA. Finding a scorer at 4 isnt tough. Bring in TT and then go get Udonis Haslem with expiring deals/draft pick. Wouldn't take much to get him and he's a scorer and much more active around the basket than Dwest was/is.

considering the Hornets are big on the pick and roll

pick and roll was near non existant last year after teams caught on from 07'.

and to call Okafor "mechanical" in that article, is funny. Chandler may look like a fluid athlete, but he is very mechanical unless he is catch alley ooops.

You know how small that lineup would be?

We'd get destroyed inside

you've got hilton coming off for the 5 behind okafor, remember okafors got a lot of minutes in him. haslem coming off on the 4 behind tt. Thats better interior d than what we got. You get more bang for your buck. against a team with a large 3 like the magic haslem can play there as well.

John Hollinger loves the trade for the Hornets.
What are the Bobcats thinking?

Usually when a trade happens, I'll write something like, "On the surface, it makes no sense," and then proceed to walk you through all the cap ramifications to show why a seemingly lopsided deal actually makes some sense.

This isn't one of those.

I'm just as puzzled as anyone why the Bobcats would agree to trade Emeka Okafor to the Hornets for Tyson Chandler, because in terms of both basketball and cap implications, the deal makes a lot more sense for New Orleans than it does for Charlotte.

We'd be better off starting Haslem and bringing TT in off the bench

yeah, im not saying he isnt mechanical. But he has been able to score better htan Chandler does. Chandler looks like a retard too in the post unless he is catching Oops

I said he can defend a big 3. He can hit the mid range j like west too. Nice player to have off the screen.

Here is a bit from Simmons (really just on why the trade was made):

"To New Orleans and Charlotte for their deceiving Tyson Chandler/Emeka Okafor swap. New Orleans got a better player but was just as interested in saving $4 million in 2010 tax money. And Charlotte is selling its franchise, so they shed Okafor's 2012/2013 dollars to make the team more appealing to prospective buyers. Sadly, those two reasons drove the trade. Don't let anyone else tell you differently. I continue to think ESPN should hire an economist for our ABC/ESPN studio shows this season."

i still think okafor's scoring goes down a little but i think he's going to increase his efficiency

i'd take his D over chandler's also at this point

hornets got the better player and showed they were willing to spend to win. the 2nd part is more important

NOW THEY JUST NEED TO DEAL DANIELS/BUTLER FOR A SLASHING 2. CHAMPIONSHIP!

That is a terrible trade. The draft picks will be pretty worthless since the Bulls with West are a top-4 team in the East (at worst) and you now have no one who can score. Haslem isn't a good shooter and he gets his points the same way that Thomas and Okafor get theirs. West has one of the ebst contracts in the NBA, the only way the Hornets should trade him is if he someone take a crap contract (hopefully, Posey) with him and give the Hornets back some real pieces in return.
