Posey's deal is even worse than peja's. It is for the same total as Peja's but with an extra year and Posey won't even be in the League when his deal is done (and he is making 7mm)
Its a bad contract, but not as bad as Peja's. Also:
1) The point that they are for the same amount of money but Posey's is longer makes no sense. Why wouldn't you want that? Why would you rather pay someone 14 million a year than 7 million over 4.
2) More importantly, they are not for the same amount of money. Peja makes about 30 million over the enxt 2 years, Posey makes about 20 million over the next 3. Pretty big difference.
3) I agree that the Bulls would have a pretty small front line. For some reason, I thought they still had Nocioni. Probably wouldn't give up 2 bigs.

Tyrus Thomas is not a good shooter. He is an athletic big that plays good defense and finishes around the basket. Just because he made a few unguarded, 15 foot shots doesn't make him a shooter.
you do realize that he improved quite a bit over last season? he isn't the same player he was his first 2seasons in the league
from yr 2 to yr 3 his attmp/game went up from 5.9 (in 18 min/game) to 8.6 (27.5 min/game) and his shooting % went up from .423 to .451

just trying to find a way to get courtney on our team broheim. He's the two we need, but we need another big, and two more if west gets traded.

Honestly, I don't even know why I'm arguing about this. It makes more sense to keep West anyway now that the Hornets aren't going to have as much cap space. Play the season with this core (which is decent), then the following season, the Hornets should be around the 3rd or 4th best team in the West (as the Spurs and Mavs keep getting older) with Peja and Peterson's expiring deals to trade for more talent. Thats actually a pretty good place to be.

Im happy with the team right now...
I think we should all just stand by this team and hope we rape this year. DWest will do very well imo now that there is a scoring option down low. And Peja might have some open shots now instead of them being contested all of last year.

Hornets overpaid for Peja who was basically a backup playa that was hurt worse than they knew, but hindsight is 20/20. so now he will com off tha bench like he should have this past year.

I made a mistake on Posey (when it was Dwest and Posey's deals I was looking at) which fricked up my dollar numbers
TThomas and Miller: $17mm for one season, qualifying offer in 2010 to TT of $6.25mm
Dwest and Posey: $43.321mm over 3 yrs
Dwest and Peja: $53.5mm with 15mm off the cap in 2 yrs
but for the record:
Posey's deal is worse than Peja's for the Bulls because the extra year (in conjunction with DWest's Player option) dramatically affects them for the FA period for 2010 and 2011 as well as possible extensions for Noah (2012)and Salmons (2011). Peja would be a huge expiring deal as early as next season to trade. especially with the salary cap bigger right now than it is going to be in 2yrs (with a lower luxury tax threshold)

if we made any trade involving these two players, we would be as deep as ANY team in the league on the front line. it really wouldnt be debatable.
deep frontlines + cp = championships

except there is no reason whatsoever for chicago to make this deal when they can let miller expire and just sign Boozer next season

It is a huge expiring contract and he also is not complete shite. I can see him contributing some to a team with the right system.

He just needs to be healthy. When he isn't healthy, as he clearly was not last year, then he defines crap. When he is okay, like he was two years ago, he is one of the best outside shooters in the league. If he indeed goes to the bench, maybe he can stay healthy.

CP3 loved TC:
but realized he sucked:

But Paul said "it's over and done with now. I'm excited by Emeka getting here. ... He brings that shot-blocking presence and he's got the ability to make post moves."
