Exactly. It's an inverse relationship. There are good defenses in the BIG. Naturally, that means the offenses will put up poor stats

There were first and second rounders all over the field for the defensive slug fests the SEC used to have. The majority of these players will be lucky to be playing in the XFL after their college career.
