If they drop TCU, then FSU has to be third.

BCS formula is flawed also as it was only for 2 teams plus the formulas were never shared

Also you can manipulate the formula

I disagree. Look at the polls from the last decade or so, 8 teams are usually in contention at the final 2 or 3 polls. A playoff would let them settle it on the field instead of the debate. The conference title games would be a chance for better seeding or a bye.

Bama
Oregon
TCU
FSU

I think the committee eliminates any controversy by keeping it the same as they had it the past few weeks

Then they shouldn't have ranked TCU third. It's not like it's a complete mystery who TCU is playing the next week. They could have saved themselves from looking like a complete joke if they drop TCU two spots for winning.

I imagine they'd move FSU up and move Ohio State in behind them.

I wonder if they move Oregon up to get a traditional Rose Bowl matchup if they can with OSU

That wouldn't surprise me either.

In the end it's likely going to be less about rankings and more about matchups.

If their argument is they rerank weekly based on the new resume, it's justified to an extent.

Problem is they publish rankings too early

That still doesn't give any good reason to drop TCU though. TCU has been destroying folks, and they're probably gonna drop 2 spots after beating an opponent 55-3.

That makes absolutely zero sense, regardless if they are a Big 12 champ or not.

Completely agree with this. Thats why I think they will just keep it the same ranking as last week. They backed themselves into a corner.

TCU's resume changed yesterday. OU lost, that means TCU only has 1 top 25 win. That should hurt them if that is what the committee is using

OU could stay in the top 25, shite Utah is still in with the same record.

If the BCS was still involved I would agree with this, but its a committee choosing. They knew that TCU was playing ISU and they smoked them.

are the locations set or do they flex depending on proximity to the school and their respective rankings?

Does #1 play in NOLA regardless?

Is there any scenario where Alabama could play in Pasadena and Oregon in Nola?

Pretty sure the top team gets to choose which site they play at. Oregon - pasadena; Bama - NO
