Yea you're right the Bucks probably should have scheduled Samford, SMU, Buffalo and Northwestern st instead.

I don't think TCU or Baylor can claim that they should have been #1 or #2 or #3 even. If they wanted to protect against being able to get in with 1 loss they should have scheduled better knowing that they wouldn't get the benefit of a conf champ game.

So...they were 3 but they (TCU) werent really 3? Is that right? So suddenly their SoS tanks in 1 week warranting the 3 spot drop putting them in the right spot, right?

Its almost like this was planned to occur on the last vote by the committee. Longs reasoning rings hollow.

The Big 12 screwed itself by trying to get two teams in.

Yes , they won by 50 , over - well , Iowa State was friggin' AWFUL 2 win team ..
by comparison tOSU won by 59 in a shutout - as underdogs over a "favored" top 12 team - in Conf Champ Game, with a 3rd string QB... so there ya go ... just sayin'

This. Idiots arguing for the Big 12 are delusional. Ohio State is a better team that actually tries on defense.

I wouldn't go as far as to say Ohio St actually tries on defense.

The committee erroneously ranked ONE team ONE week and now they are inept?

Pretty huge error. Especially when it's not a secret your new #3 team is scheduled to play Iowa State. And yes it makes them look completely inept.

Game 4:
#4 Ohio St. vs. #5 Baylor
6 PM EST, Columbus, OH

Saturday, January 10th

Game 5:
Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 4
6 PM EST, Sugar Bowl - New Orleans, LA

Game 6:
Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 3

the contract was for a number of years, that being said, the first year that Notre Dame and two teams from one conference get in and screw over most conferences is when the expansion to 8 will take place

remember the Big 10 and Pac 12 were opposed to a playoff until the Mulligan Bowl, due to their relationship with the Rose Bowl...

From the FAQs of the CFB website:

Why is the playoff not more than four teams? Will the playoff expand to more than four teams?

The four-team playoff preserves the importance and the excitement and compelling nature of the regular season, which is the best in sports. It also maintains the tradition of the bowls, which are unique in the American sports culture. The agreements for the four-team playoff extend for 12 years.
