Isn’t their salary cap a percentage of league revenue?

Basketball Related Income, not 100% sure what exactly is included in that.

Again, I don't blame players in leagues like the NBA and NFL for fixing games to make extra money off of the gambling. The league has leveraged officials to do this for years. Why not allow the players to be crooked as well? Especially the guys in the NFL that are destined for a life of CTE with little to no assistance from the NFL after they retire.

If I were a player going up against say, KC, and I had the ability to win some side money I would throw it in a second. The game is going to be rigged anyway, why not profit too?

Well, tv revenue surely is, and viewership is WAY up due to online betting. It may not “directly” benefit them, but it’s just 1 extra degree of separation that only an idiot couldn’t put together. It may not be 1+1=2, but it’s 1+1+1=3 for sure.

I think you've fallen for the trap that Brown is laying (whether it's intentional or he's just a moron).

Of course the betting revenue isn't something that players should have a piece of.

But, betting in general makes the NBA product bigger. It makes the pie that they do share bigger.

Jaylen Brown teaches at MIT, took grad level courses at Cal as a freshman, got an internship offer from NASA for his work in physics and has lectured at Harvard.

He’s not a moron.

I haven’t fallen for anything, I was just stating that they don’t get a percentage of all revenue, only what is defined as “Basketball Related Income”.
