If I remember right,my middle brother was one of the guys that started saying this, a curdog is a mutt that has to fight for everything. They are usually "smaller" dogs but fight to the death

I think this was name was adopted around the early 90's.

How does that relate to CHS other than them usually being the undersized team?

What is the name for a purebred that doesn't have to fight for anything but is still undersized?

What do you know about the 96 defense? Or the 96 offense?

A cur is a junkyard dog. Basically, no matter the circumstances, you know he will be out there, just living. Also, when you have a junkyard dog backed into a wall you'll have to kill it to quit it from attacking you.

how do you figure? The 96 team strength was it's DB's. Lewis wouldn't be able to throw on them.

96 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>06.
also
Major>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lewis(and I've known Lewis since he was a little kid, I pull for him)

06 couldn't stop the Minor-Boone tandem.

I still think the #1 reason for no state championships at CHS is the lack of a really good QB. CHS has just never had one. We have had big names come through the school, but never anyone who could actually throw the fricking ball. The offense has always been completely reliant on the running game.

Take a look at these measly records:

quote:

MOST YARDS PASSING
GAME: 330 yards by Jesse Daigle vs Central Lafourche (11-11-88)
SEASON: 1831 yards by Zack Oliver (2009)
CAREER: 3998 yards by Ryan Lewis (2005-2007)

quote:

MOST PASSES COMPLETED
GAME: 22 by Zach Oliver vs Jesuit (9-26-08) also Zack Oliver vs Central (10-02-09)
SEASON: 125 vs Zack Oliver (2009)
CAREER: 274 by Zack Oliver (2008-2009)

This is because of Weiner's system, not a lack of talent. He prefers to use the running game instead. That's why these big name guys numbers weren't all too impressive.

Whatever the reason, CHS has not and won't win a state championship without a successful passing game.

Which they will never have under Weiner.

That it's D, although laced with done studs, top to bottom wasn't good as that '06 D. garidel told us his top 2 Ds were the 06 D and the 90 state runner up D.

06 would just run on them then. 4 D1 RBs. Lewis was a tough arse runner himself. 06's offensive line was extremely physical and impressive. The one thing that 06 had that many catholic teams didn't/dont have was size in the trenches. The OL and DL that year really carried us and elevated us. One of the few times we entered the game and were always the bigger team.

It does not, but under Weiner, Catholic has had a very one sided offense and a very underachieving passing game, especially considering the talent that has come through the quarterback position. This isn't the sole reason for not winning a state championship, but it certainly didn't help.

I never said it did. I just said for CHS to win the SC, they need a passing game to balance out the offense.

I was at that game. Awesome game even though CHS lost. It was at Central lafourche. It came down to which offense had the ball last. Tommy Hodson's little brother Matt Hodson was a WR or TE for Central Lafourche in that game.

Ummm Major Applewhite wasnt to damn bad. And im not sure but he probably had either Warrick Dunn, Travis Minor umm the Boy who went to Clemson all around his time. Man Catholic had alot of talent go thru there during the 90's and into the 21st century. I just think that there were some big playoff games that Weiner(whom i know is a good man) was out coached. You can out man someteams with alot of talent, but when you play good ,well coached teams you have better damn well be well caosched also. And in highschool sports more so than any other level.
