why the sudden drop to shitsville?
FSU hasnt done shite in years?
I dont know. Maybe it has to due with the flight towards the outskirts of BR. Alot of talent seems to be at Zachary, PBS, Dutchtown and other schools.
Theres also been alot of turnover in the staff-- only 2 coaches from the '06 season remain. And they have had many 1 and 2 year coaching stints in between.
The talent isnt the same either. Just watching them, they arent really on par with other average catholic teams of the past.
I did open house for SMUs WR Nyles Johnson back in '06 when he was in 8th grade(did a search on his dad, Trumaine Johnson-- turns out her played in the league
Some of these kids want to play bball and baseball but when you look at our squads for those sports, they don't necessary invite you to believe you can. But most kids do play freshman ball, but just quit after the realize they are either better at track and football and/or that chs bball is military ball.

Its unbelievable that the team could drop off like this. You could tell the school has been losing talent for the past few years, but once my class graduates, the team goes to shite. I guess we were the last class with any talent.
However, I do think there is some young talent on the team right now. They are in a rebuilding stage right now. So hopefully, they will be able to turn it around over the next couple of years.

Yeah, I can only think of 1 or 2 guys when I was at Catholic that played 2 of those 3 sports.

They have a whole bunch of former assistant coaches doing well all over the place. It's gotta be tough to keep replacing coaches though.

bump this thread again. It's time. A new direction is needed. The problem for Weiner now is that both Boudreaux and Randow still have jobs at CHS. What is left for him to do.. Fundraiser?

I just wanted to drop in to say that Lester Earl is a douche who didn't even play sports in high school but is talking shite to guys who did. He is in his mid to late 20s but still follows high school football closely.

I had a grown lady text me (St. Amant fan) last night to rub it in my face that Catholic lost again.
I responded "LSU #1 in the country right now" because that's what I really care about, not CHS. I don't know, I just don't get it. I guess if you never went to college, then you'd probably hang on to the high school years a little more like I do my college years.
I just can't bring myself to talk smack about or regularly attend high school games, even as a CHS graduate.
I will say though, that when I went to Catholic, we owned the city of Baton Rouge in all sports. It's odd to see a football team with such a horrible record right now.

Nothing personal. I respect Catholic High as a good school and their athletic program. As someone whose kids will play Catholic for few years to come I hope Catholic refuses to fire Weiner. I hope he stays another 10 years.

That doesn't surprise me. I went to a Catholic/St. Amant game in the Swamp when I was in 7th grade, with a friend and his family. We were all wearing Catholic stuff and were all cussed and told to leave by several adult St. Amant fans. My friend's mom told some of them we were just kids and they just cussed her more....
