re: Can Zachary take down the mighty WM Rebels?

That is unreal for a freaking qb to have 30+ runs. Slade IS the WM offense. Unbelievable athlete.
Yes, I don't like to see the QB take many hits. Too many unknowns can happen on just one play.
Slade is one of those special type athletes you see only once in a while.
Zachary is probably the better team, at least on paper. More speed and probably bigger in many positions.
Its those intangibles that are hard to quantify which gives WM the edge. Lots of great coaching and an understanding of the game in general by the WM players.
The Zachary QB does have some problems with his passing accuracy. If the WM defense can keep him contained from running and get him uncomfortable in the pocket, its going to be a long night for Zachary.
Offensively, WM is going to have to mix it up with some slants, a few fly patterns and maybe a trick play here and there. I don't think WM is going to just run the ball exclusively. WM offensive line is going to have to wear down the Zachary d-line.
I like WM in this one. WM 35-17 over Zachary.

If they don’t Hahnville will
Posted on 11/29/17 at 8:58 pm to Hamma1122
Leave Hahnville out of this debate, we have our own game to worry about. Acadiana rolling start Wrecka Rams is the focus this week.

And there it is, if not this week, then the next week, and then next......

He wasn’t even the leading rusher in the regular season.
I know that you know more than me so I believe you, but that shocks me. I never would have guess that.

He is now, but at the end of the regular season, Cameron Wright was the leading rusher.

BTW, watched some Hahnville games. Pooka is legit. LSU is on that and if not they should be.

You know what they say, “if you can’t beat them, call them cheaters”

Even their coach is lining up the excuses now.
quote:
The Rams’ offense poses a couple of challenges for an opposing defense, Saltaformaggio said. One such concern is a tactic employed by the Acadiana offensive line.
“Their offensive line doesn’t come to a set stance before they snap the ball,” Saltaformaggio explained. “They will get them down, they will be in a two-point stance and the quarterback will start the cadence. They will be going down as the cadence is starting and the ball is being snapped. They kind of get a forward roll prior to the snap.
“Last week against Live Oak, I noticed on film that it was called a lot early and they kind of got away from it. What will happen, too, is they will do it, they will do it, and then they will go on three (the snap count). So you are used to having to come off early because they are coming off early and the next thing you know, you are giving them five yards because they are going on three and they are going on two.”
Is the play illegal? “I don’t want to say it’s dirty pool because they have been doing it forever, but it is illegal. Some crews call it and some don’t,” Saltaformaggio said.
The other concern, Saltaformaggio said, is the depth his defenders may have to take because of the Rams’ ‘forward roll.’”
“It almost makes you play a little further off the ball to just defend your legs from the way they block their veer-option football,” the Hahnville coach said.
LINK
And coming from someone who has played for Acadiana, this is BS. Go up the the line, Hands on knees, QB says down, three point stance, then hut. That’s really all it is. And IDK what game he’s watching because they called it 6 times in one series against Live Oak where Acadiana was on their 4 yd line late in the game with a chance to put it away. Came up empty and they didn’t change the count until their last two drives. If Acadiana came to the line and just went straight to a three point stance from the jump there’d still be b*tching.
Here are the malicious illegal rolling starts
I’m surprised they don’t throw flags on every play

Wow that’s awful. I feel terrible for that young man.

Heard he had an offer, not sure if true. Salt all but said at the NOLA QB club that he is a Kansas commit but he doesn't expect to see him going there. His down size is he's so small, 170 lbs is generous. Will be a 10-15 touch a game guy.

I just think when the whole offense does that synchronized drop into a stance, that it looks like peewee crap...

They were set for one second. If it’s that much of an issue, change the rule to two seconds. They aren’t going forward until the ball is snapped, so I fail to see how this is much of an issue

I dont know the rules, dont care about the back and forth, but it is undeniable they are moving forward slightly in every posted gif before the snap.

The first one is not that bad.
The second to last - the right guard and tackle are lined up deeper than the QB and clearly never stop. The TE on their right is set on the line and does not roll.
From the angle it looks like the guards head has already passed the ball before it's snapped.

So I guess the time when they're half down counts as set too?
