In what world does someone think Iowa state is #6 compared to coastal at 12 or ULL at 19?

With how trash these rankings are I'm surprised USC isn't in the top 10.

They should be ranked ahead of ISU in every realistic way.

But it is what it is.

I’m shocked to see ISU at 6. Would be interesting to see where ULL would be ranked had they beaten Coastal Carolina.

Florida should be begging to be ranked right now. Alabama is going to beat them by 50

Is that one of the ranking criteria?

it seems like it is 50% the talent you have and 50% the talent you beat

Allowing Disney to pick playoff teams instead of neutral criteria could be what really permanently damages the entire CFB brand.

Perhaps ESPN/Disney were given far too much power...

Had this same thought. They're not even hiding it anymore.

It worked our when Long was there that no situation like 16 occurred. If you look back at 16 during 16 it was clear OSU was far ahead of PSU all year and they continuously said they had an overall better body of work

So you are trying to revise history here not me

You gonna whine about your team with a losing record and a 55-17 beatdown now getting any respect too? L1U fans are unreal.

My only thought is they don’t care about resumes very much in a COVID year and are strictly going by who they think is truly better or would win the most out of 10 games played against each other. Vegas lines would probably follow pretty close with these rankings.

Not defending it, just trying to explain it.

CFP Rankings Explained:

One system based on the arbitrary judgement of many (including those who create computing based on mashed up statistics) has been traded for another system based on the arbitrary judgement of a very few (including only some who create computing based on mashed up statistics).

The net result of this has been to further devalue the D1 CFP product by reducing interest to maybe 4-6 teams that may have an opportunity to compete in a 4 team tournament.

The corollary to this shite show is the clamoring for, and the inevitable development of, an expanded playoff bracket which will further devalue the CFB ‘regular season’ in exactly the same way college BB has traded all of its meaning and value for March Madness.

The bettors will prolly be happy but the stadiums will be empty...

I can explain it.

It's called frick you this is a P5 only club.

This is what I have always said, the playoff should be at 8 teams to allow for this. Anything past 8 is too watered down.

Iowa State too high. Louisiana too low. Louisiana should be ranked ahead of Iowa State wherever they are slotted. 1 less loss and head 2 head win.

Does the Committee not realize that ISU lost to Louisiana by 17 points?
