I was so wrapped up in our historic season I totally forgot until recently how great of a season UL had (Yes I will call them UL it’s not that big of a deal).

11-3 with a 10 pt loss to Mississippi State, 2 close losses to sunbelt power App State. Pretty much blew everyone out with a few exceptions (ULM). I only remember talking about how great all Louisiana teams did in 2019 but didn’t break each down like we did for LSU.

Napier is proving to be a good coach. They have good facilities and are in a good G5 conference. Do we feel a UL/APP State rivalry coming on? 11 wins is impressive. I don’t care what level you play at.

Keeping up that win total when you're replacing the two highest draft picks in the history of your university (I think that's correct) is going to be difficult. The team relied heavily on the run and explosive plays, and I'm not sure the talent level is the same to replace the talent that just exited the program. We shall see. He does seem to be a good coach and I don't think he'll be around come bowl season.

They should be able to make a run at double digit wins again.

no reason why they shouldnt finish in the top 2 of the conference every yr. Sunbelt is horrible but he has done a good job. Always thought it was the 2nd best job in the state

Depends on how long you're talking. He's had the top ranked recruiting class the last two seasons in the Sun Belt. Cajuns should be good this year, but after that it's up in the air. The program will have a lot of talent in it, but I don't see him staying around for much longer. If the university doesn't bungle the next hire, the new guy should come in to a good situation.

Didn’t he turn down the Mississippi State job?

Idk I think App State considers Georgia Southern their rival. ULM and Arkansas State are ULL's rivals. Napier is holding out for Saban's retirement imo

He won't be there long enough to find out. He'll be an SEC or Big 12 coach by 2022

Call them the SLI Bulldogs: their younger fans will be dumbfounded and the older ones might appreciate you knowing that much about their history instead of the arse blasted responses you'd get for ULL

Ragas and Mitchell are a great RB duo, especially for the Sun Belt. I could see Napier getting that SCar job like someone else said, but I can’t see Alabama hiring him from the Fun Belt.

He turned down Mississippi State this year but that job isn’t great.

They should have won that Miss State game but just couldn’t help themselves and kept giving the game away to the Bulldogs.

Did you know Missouri hired the Appalachian State HC after the season was over? Therefor Missouri hired a pretty good HC.

The Cajuns oL is just plug and play right now. As good as Ragas and Mitchell are, the OL is easily the most talented position in the program.

This biggest loss of the offseason is Ron Roberts becoming the DC at Baylor. He will be hard to replace and IMO is the biggest reason we won 11 games last season.

On paper this upcoming season should be the best Cajuns team ever. The results from last year were kind of surprising to most because it was a year earlier than expected.

The OL and running game was the biggest reason for the 11 wins but the defense was the best we’ve had in a very long time and definitely won some games for us
