Mormons spending that money. He’ll be joining the No. 1 recruit in the country, AJ Dybantsa, whose NIL is reported to be close to $7 million.

This past season, Wright - a rising sophomore - averaged 11.5 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.1 rebounds. A former Montverde Academy standout, Wright played alongside Maryland’s Derik Queen, Georgia’s Asa Newell, UConn’s Liam McNeeley, and the expected number-one pick in this year’s NBA Draft, Cooper Flagg.

Arguments about whether BYU is using LDS money to fund vs private alumni. Their assets are $250 billion or more.

The Big 12 has been the best basketball conference since covid
ETA:
Baylor won in 2021, Kansas in 2022, Houston Runner Up in 2025
I know I know, don't worry, the SEC is the bestest best conference to ever conference

Thought NBA owners couldn't donate to collectives? Ishba had to stop donating to MSU when he bought the Suns

Why would that be a rule?

Are all these NIL figures we’ve been seeing per year?

That is really a fascinating question. I mean $15 million seems pretty reasonable with multimillion bumps every year as long as he sticks around.

So you aren’t paying guys you are potentially drafting or trying to sign as a free agent in the future, whether a real or perceived conflict.
It’s not really a rule but more suggested by the league.

There is a lot of wealth in the BYU alumni base, not just Smith.

Is the Jazz owner the same as the Utah NHL franchise?

I could not be more checked out on college sports at this point. My interest in it has just flatlined since 2020. It is casual at best.
